London Writing School offers online writing workshops designed to offer some inspiration, make you think about the craft of writing and carve out some time in the day to get pen to paper.  Our paid courses allow you develop an idea at your own pace. Who are the workshops for? Perhaps you want to give writing a go but aren’t sure what will happen. Maybe you used to write and want to get back to it. Or you write, but would like more structured inspiration and a practice session. The sessions are designed so that you can make the most of them whatever stage you're at.  What do we do? We usually have a warm up exercise around the theme of the workshop, do a little bit free writing, and then there’s a chance to build a more structured scene that could go on to become a short story, or even spark an idea for a novel. If you are full of ideas we hope to bring them into sharper focus, if you’re feeling a bit creatively empty we aim to fill you up and get you going again.  Do we share work? In the free sessions we don’t read out work or share it with others. Come and experiment with no judgement. About the teacher I've been shortlisted for various awards and schemes including the BBC Writers’ Room, Crime Writers Association Debut Dagger, Theatre 503 seed commissions and the Launch Pad Manuscript Competition. I write in different forms. My work has been on stage in London, audio drama 'The Grove' has thousands of downloads and my novel 'A Company of Roses' is available on Amazon. I have an MA in Screenwriting and a PGCE from Goldsmiths University where my focus was on creativity.

The story of Hadith of the Day (HOTD) began in 2009 with the simplest of visions: How to make Muslims connect and fall in love with their faith using the latest technology available which they use on a daily basis.The aim was to showcase and promote the beauty of Islam to a truly universal audienceFor people to be inspired by sacred text and by real life experiences of people whose lives were changed forever due to the sheer inspiration our beautiful faith offers. We wanted to make inspiration the footprint for our vision, and so the HOTD journey started, like many other success stories with humble beginnings. We started with one person, a piece of blank paper and a simple idea of the time was 1st July 2009. INSPIRING MILLIONS Our mission statement is to inspire. We inspire our members with daily drops of inspirational and educational knowledge. We have been endorsed by some of the world’s leading scholars such as Mufti Ismail Menk, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan, Shaykh Yusuf Badat, Shaykj Omar Sulemain, Yasmin Mogahed and many more.When we first started we had 100 members on our Facebook Page. Within 6 months we had 500,000 and in less than a year we had 1 million members. We’re now at over 15 million and growing Alhamdulillah. CONNECTING OUR GLOBAL UMMAH The strength of social media is that it connects millions of Muslims from different parts of the world together. With the generosity of one of our members, HOTD sent 10 members on an all expenses paid trip to Makkah and Madinah. Only low-income families were permitted to enter and when we made the phone calls to the winners, every single person broke down in tears. Some of the people who won could not afford applying for a passport so our donor also covered those costs.

VT began in 1998 providing computer and ITC solutions for teachers. It gradually grew from requests and questions from teachers at my school and teachers at inservices I had given. I published questions and links online in the Virtual Teacher website, so everyone could have easy access. It contained Online Lesson Plans, Great Sites, Free Stuff, Tips, Time savers, and templates etc. In 2000, I was giving more seminars and inschool tutorials at a number of schools and setting up computer networks. I was linking up with many teachers with lots of questions, who wanted fresh inspiration and ideas, so the VT Newsletter was born. Here are the Archival Newsletters click to view them, these were amongst the earliest educational newsletters on the web. In all I wrote 156 of them between 2000 and 2008 until events, time and the world changed. I am still currently sending newsletters out, the next one will be Number 248. I am a Future Commercial Pupil Barrister, Entrepreneur and Content Creator. As a Law Student I realised quickly that there was a need to challenge the lack of resources for future barristers without personal connections into the profession. BATB is a platform providing motivation, education and inspiration for future and practising barristers through online, in person and on demand workshops/tutorials, and an online store providing digital resources for barrister skills development and Bar School. My journey to the Bar has pushed me to be innovative in how to organise myself to manage my time and productivity. Inspired by a desire to avoid procrastination and burnout as a student barrister, I developed tools to help me learn, process information and practically apply my developing professional skills. I studied ceramics for three years at Eastbourne College of Art. Since then I have worked as a potter and tutor for thirty seven years. I am currently dividing my time between producing my own handmade ceramics and running pottery classes for people of all abilities at my studio in Lewes UK. I am a qualified adult education tutor. I produce a range of domestic stoneware. My inspiration for this work is the coastline of Sussex. Where many summers were spent exploring the colours and textures of the coastal landscape, rock pooling, searching for shells, fossils and stones. I also produce one off pieces using the raku firing method. The results are unpredictable and the use of copper and silver wire enchance the finished piece. My work can be found in Alfriston Gallery, East Sussex, Lavernham Comtempory Art Gallery, Suffolk, Avocet Gallery, Rye. Alistair Fleming's shop in Lewes and Skylark, Lewes. Open Houses during the Brighton Festival in May and Artwave August-September in Lewes.

Little Barton is an exciting new permaculture project, which we will be helping the landowners to develop as part of our learning activities, such as: establishing a large forest garden and nut orchard, perennial and annual vegetable beds, cut flower beds, a wildflower meadow, a wild woodland and much more... We also occasionally offer training and events at other inspiring locations, and can deliver bespoke courses and workshops at a location of you choice by arrangement.

Hello, I am Rebecca Farmer, the Founder of Telling Our Tales. I am a Montessori teacher committed to the ‘follow the child’ philosophy, and part of my work is in Nigeria developing library projects for primary schools. It was there that the inspiration for Telling Our Tales was born. For our libraries we needed early literacy books for beginner readers in English. We wanted these books to reflect the children and the communities they lived in, and be fun, full-colour and vibrant, just like the children who would be reading them. We needed good quality levelled readers that would encourage reading for pleasure whilst also being educational. In every bookstore, the only levelled readers we could find were Keywords with Peter and Jane and other foreign publications—good books, but hardly reflective of Nigeria and its people. We wanted books set in Nigeria, with Nigerian children at the heart of every story, but the books we wanted did not exist, until now!
