In this intermediate level screen printing workshop with artist and printmaker Lou Davis, you will learn to coat, expose, print and clean silk screens using the photo emulsion method.You&rsquo;ll create a design for screen printing,&nbsp;transfer your design to a screen and print it onto printmaking paper. We&rsquo;ll cover&nbsp;how to register your prints so they print in the same place every time. For this full day workshop, we&rsquo;ll create multi-coloured prints with two or more layers. You&rsquo;ll make an edition of up to ten prints and choose your favourite to frame, ready for your wall or to give as a gift.It&rsquo;s a good idea to think about what you&rsquo;d like to print before the workshop. Please bring some ideas for artwork with you, which we&rsquo;ll draw by hand onto tracing paper during the first part of the workshop. On this, 3 hour or 5 hour introduction to macram&eacute; workshop with Edinburgh artist Lucy Wayman, you get the opportunity to work on longer projects.&nbsp;You can choose to create a plant or pot hanger, or stay on to work on a more larger macram&eacute; project, such as a double plant hanger, wall hanging or bag.&nbsp;
The workshop will start with the basic principles and techniques of macram&eacute;, allowing you to build your confidence by creating small projects such as a key ring, before moving on to designing and creating your plant hanger, bespoke wall hanging, or bag.
Once you feel more confident, you will learn how to calculate rope lengths and plan designs to create your chosen hand-crafted macram&eacute; project&nbsp;using 100% cotton rope and a selection of coloured twines. A helpful instruction manual will be provided to guide you through your project.If you opt for the plant hanger project your workshop will finish after 3 hours. The longer wall hanging and bag projects last for an extra 2 hours, i.e. a 5 hour workshop.

The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.

The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. This private class will get you and your friends into the party or festive spirit!&nbsp;On the festive-themed option, calligraphy artist, Panna Chauhan, will show you how to hand-decorate a set of 3 Christmas baubles which you will take home to hang with pride on your tree, or as the perfect, personalised gifts for family and friends.&nbsp;

The mindful process of gently folding and bending the pages of the damaged books she found helped her healing.
