Exploring the lost and found, the past and how it has shaped us, connection and heritage – these are themes in my work. I seek to create a certain atmosphere and emotion. All at once imagined and familiar, a connection with the viewer and a continued exploration to find my own place in the world. Growing up on the East coast of Scotland, I now live in the beautiful, rugged and inspirational area of Northumberland. Originally completing a degree in Performance Costume from Edinburgh College of Art, I graduated in 2005. For the past few years, I have been focussed on drawing and painting, which combines my love of history, community, people and their connection with the land and sea.

Our principal tutor has over 30 years sewing, design and tailoring experience with a background in theatrical costume and design. We offer Garment Construction for the absolute beginner to the more advanced for both ladies and gents. We also have a comprehensive Soft Furnising Course which includes linied curtains, zipped cushions etc,. In addition we offer either a two or three week Roman Blind making evening course; and for those wishing to try their hand at sewing without commiting to a course the popular one day Basic Introduction to Sewing Class runs on a Friday, see available dates, anyone completing this class receives a 10% discount on any subsequent course booking. Class sizes are restricted to a maximum of four students per class allowing for optimum learning and tailored tuition therefore booking early is highly recommended. Dimensions Entertainment is a voluntary unincorporated social enterprise organisation established in 2007 that was initially youth led by a 4 member team of dancers to promote the Carnival Arts and Dance in the London. Dimensions run an extensive outreach learning programme where we engage with over hundreds of young people each year. Our learning workshops provide participants with skills and creative experiences in all forms of Cultural Arts to develop a exclusive dance, drama and costume style, bringing the art to schools, community centres and other organisations a taste of culture, including local regular classes for those that want to learn something new or want further training. We have participated in displays at major events including Tottenham Carnival, Youth Dance day, Seychelles Carnival and many others. Dimensions London is aiming to become one of the leading Carnival Arts and Dance organisations within the UK by honing the past and present traditions of the Carnival and dance and promoting it to our targeted audiences. We also aim to become one of the leaders in training young people and engage those not in employment and education into the Carnival Arts.

I established my business creating distinctive and intricate rugs and textile art in 2014, and I specialise in hand-weaving using long established techniques, such as Krokbragd. (The one that no-one likes to say out loud). After being taught rug weaving by the late Susan Foster at art college in the 1990’s, I pursued a career in costume for a number of years whilst continuing to weave on small scale collections. During this time I developed the original style for which I have become known since setting up my business. I combine my weaving with an instinctive and daring approach to colour and it’s the creative process of importing a contemporary element to the time honoured techniques of weaving and the responses from the viewer which most excite me. A year spent living in India and more recently, the dynamic graffiti and houses in my Bristol neighbourhood, have influenced the fabulously joyful palette which is intrinsic to my weaving. Working in reclaimed high quality rug wool and a variety of other yarns I meticulously hand-weave and finish all the original pieces myself on my Glimakra Floor loom at BV Studios in Bristol. Some of my designs are then produced in small batches through various partnerships.

My name is Jen Barnes and I have been teaching Swimming since 2014. I love teaching children to swim and I leave every lesson with a smile because it really does bring me joy. Before having my own family, I worked in the Early Years sector which has given me a broader understanding of Child Development which I have applied to all the classes I teach. I believe that being in the water is one of the best ways to help your child grow in confidence. It is a sensory experience that helps develop co-ordination, brain connections, balance and is one of life's most necessary safety skills. Some experiences I have had in my life that were only possible because I can swim are: I have played Water Polo for Western Australia I am confident in my body because it is strong - and you have no other choice when you work in a swimming costume! I have been White Water Rafting in Indonesia I have surfed in Hawaii I have been swimming with Whalesharks on the Ningaloo Reef - one of the best experiences of my life! I truly love being in the water and I hope to share that passion with you in the pool!

Glena Art Studio opens in London on the 1st of November, 2022, following seven years old history of the Glena Art Studio project for art education, workshops, and creative events across the UK, Bulgaria, and internationally via online tutoring. The leader and teacher of the studio is Galina Hristova, a practising artist and educator, with BA and MA in Set and Costume design and MFA in Fine Arts. Her professional training started at the widely acclaimed National school of Fine Arts ‘Tzanko Lavrenov’, Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and ended with the MFA Course at Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL, London, UK. Trained in the academic tradition of painting and drawing, Galina now works multidisciplinary with main focus on Painting and Performance art. Together with her teaching experience, she has led different workshops, presentations, and talks. Her practice expands in curation with the realisation of different art exhibitions and live events. Galina has six solo exhibitions and a great number of collective shows. Her purpose as an educator is to guide and encourage students to discover and release their creative potential, but also to support personal development. Through the formation of self-esteem and social integrity, raise values such as equality, compassion, and acceptance.
