This Catastrophic Bleeding (life changing bleeding) first aid course is an ideal refresher course for the general public, schools, construction workers, tree surgeons, young people, youth workers or anyone working in an area when severe bleeding could occur or wishing to empower themselves with the skills and knowledge to help someone who has been a victim of violent street crime. The course covers topics such as CPR and the Recovery position, the dangers of weapon carrying, first aid treatment for serious bleeding, catastrophic bleeding, use of manufactured and improvised tourniquets, packing a wound, treatment for acid attacks and use of bleed kits. Paediatric First Aid (12 Hour) Description: This two-day paediatric first aid course focuses on emergency scenarios that face those looking after young children and infants, including day nurseries, private nursery schools, pre-schools, before and after school clubs for children in the early years age group, childminders, parents and carers of children at home. Designed around the needs of all child carers, our paediatric first aid courses place emphasis on dealing with sick or injured children and babies. The 1 Day Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work RQF qualification is tailored for smaller workplaces and for staff who work in low hazard environments. Three Hour Course Cost:  £50 + vat per person Catastrophic Bleeding is an excellent course designed for First Aiders who are involved in high-risk working environments. This 3-hour course will provide learners with guidance on Catastrophic Bleeding control, including dealing with the inherent dangers associated with the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings whilst administering First Aid in a high-risk working environment. Learners must hold a valid First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate in order to attend the course. SYLLABUS A range of subjects is covered including:   Equipment Primary survey Catastrophic bleeding Haemostatic dressings Tourniquets Top-to-toe survey Environmental issues Handover to the emergency services Maximum of 16 People A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course. Age limit learners must be a minimum of 16 years of age to attend the course. CERTIFICATION Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual throughout the course and issue a non-regulated Certificate of Achievement where the required level of attainment has been met.
