Looking back I can say I have always wanted to be a dog groomer. I am very passionate about animals and own an Irish Terrier. I started working for Claire in Classic Canine Cuts fourteen years ago! During this time I have achieved qualifications in OCN Animal Care, an Animal Care Foundation Modern Apprenticeship including NVQ Level 1 & 2. I have also completed my level 3 City and Guilds Diploma in Dog Grooming and have gained my Canine First Aid Certificate. I am proud of my continued professional development, throughout my career at Classic Canine Cuts. I thoroughly enjoy dog grooming, especially scissoring many different breeds such as Poodles, Bedlington Terriers, Kerry Blue’s and Cockapoo’. One of my personal favourites would be the Bichon Frise.

I am the owner of Rascals of Woburn. Rascals has been such a joy to create and expand. I just love dogs and I couldn't think of a better job! I hold qualifications in both City & Guilds and OCN Dog Grooming Level 2 and 3. I have 9 years experience working with animals and grooming to a high industry standard. My precious dog Maggie is my world and has been the Rascals mascot for the past 9 years. I truly love everything about Rascals, from the furry friends I've made along the way, to the humans too. Our team really makes Rascals a happy and wonderful place for customers and their dogs to come to. We are grateful every day to both our customers and their pooches as without them we really would have nothing to do all day!

Karen Lockey-Kennedy Canine kids ® Owner / Chief Instructor Professional Dog Behaviour Counsellor and Training Specialist BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour & Biomedical Science DipCABT, Member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers No 00692 Member of The Animal Behaviour & Training Council Canine kids® is owned and managed by Karen Lockey-Kennedy who is a highly experienced and fully qualified dog trainer and behaviourist and is also chief instructor for the company. After completing her honours degree in Animal Behaviour and Biomedical Science, Karen went on to complete an advanced diploma in Practical Aspects of Companion Animal Behaviour and Training through COAPE. Karen is also a member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers. All members of the APDT are assesed and train under a strict code of practise because they believe in modern, kind and gentle methods. This offers pet owners a guarantee of quality when signing up to a class. Karen feels very strongly against punitive heavy handed methods and believes if we have our dogs as companions and part of the family they should be treated that way. Karen has worked with internationally renowned Sarah Whitehead for 8 years running three of the leading branches of the previously known Alpha Puppy Classes and Pet Behaviour. She also used to be a tutor for Alpha Education OCN accredited courses for new trainers and behaviour counsellors. Now 37, Karen's ambitions and success led her to branch out with her own team of trainers and launched Canine Kids® in July 2009. Karen and her team run training centres in Camberley, Godalming and Farnham area and do one to one training and behaviour councelling through out Surrey, areas of Berkshire and Hampshire. We can travel further if required. Karen has a strong passion for her job and ultimately wants the best for every dog and family that comes through her doors. You can be quaranteed to be given the highest quality of service by Karen and her team.

Vicki is a qualified teacher with over 20 years’ experience in schools, colleges and universities. She worked as a secondary school teacher for a number of years before working with students with additional needs. After several years running programmes for young people and adults in the FE sector, Vicki undertook a Masters in Education, specialising in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs), along with additional training to assess for dyslexia. She is also a qualified SENCO and worked for several years as an Advisory Teacher for the local authority. Vicki currently works part-time in a HE setting assessing and tutoring individuals with specific learning difficulties. Each year she assesses over 80 students for Disabled Students Allowance and continues to offer advice and assessments to a number of local schools. Vicki is the current Chair of the Dorset PATOSS group. Vicki lives in Swanage and relaxes by walking in the Purbeck hills with her dog Poppy, pottering in her tiny garden and acting as roadie to her musical teenage sons. She helps out in the family bookshops whenever she can and has provided training on dyslexia to booksellers from across the UK. MEd. Initially teaching IT, maths and English to a wide range of learners, Alice later trained to specialise in specific learning difficulties where she gained a Masters from the University of Southampton and qualified to both teach and assess individuals with dyslexia and other SpLDs. Alice is a keen advocate of assistive technology and strongly believes that individuals are far more likely to achieve when they are provided with the right tools, enabling them to use existing strengths to overcome challenges. As a current SpLD practitioner and study skills tutor for university students, Alice has plenty of opportunity to develop and maintain her understanding of the challenges that individuals with a SpLD face, and this insight helps inform her work as an assessor. Alice has 2 children and lives in Mudeford. When she’s not working, Alice enjoys paddle boarding and exploring the New Forest either by foot or on her bicycle.
