Sterling Silver Bangle Workshop For Complete Beginners. A day to learn some basic silver jewellery making techniques and create your own bangles. Learn to use basic tools and techniques to form and texture, hammered or waved bangles to completion. Going home with beautifuly finished items of jewellery. The ticket price covers the cost of tuition and all precious and non precious practice materials. Whilst soldering experience is not necessary, a basic understanding of soldering and forming metal would be advantageous, enabling you more time to focus on your design. However, we practice simple soldering techniques, for those with little or no experience. To ensure that all abilities are catered for. On the day you will design and make gorgeous sterling silver bangles. You will be guided through a variety of techniques. You can choose from a variety of designs to make two bangles. You can choose to make hammered textures, using small specialised hammers. Twisted wire bangles. Waved or plain round bangles or a combination of two designs. If you wish, these can be joined together with a large jump ring. Price includes all precious materials, practice materials & instruction. We also include light refreshments of hot and cold drinks with plenty of cake and biscuits throughout the day. Please note, this ticket is your deposit and is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel the event if we do not have a minimum of 3 people, in which case your payment will be fully refunded. To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the classes are limited to six people. You will have quality time to ask any questions you might have, and guided help along the way. Suitable for complete beginners and limited to adults only. You will be provided with an apron and safety glasses but please wear workshop appropriate clothing on the day (no open toe shoes or loose clothing) for your safety. Please get in touch if you’d like a group booking on an alternative date. About the workshop Make your own bangles - choice of different designs and textures. There are different texture and forming tools to choose from, to make your bangle combinations unique to you. We cover a range of basic silversmithing techniques in this workshop so it really is a great introduction to working with silver. Who is it for? Beginners onwards. What will I learn? You'll learn the basics of jewellery making, including annealing, sawing, filing, soldering, shaping, forming, texturing and polishing. What's included? We provide all the equipment and materials you will need including the sterling silver to make your bangles. Tea, coffee and cake are also included on the day. What shall I bring? Reading glasses if you use them. Also to keep you safe it's best to wear closed toed shoes, tie long hair back and avoid loose flapping clothing. 1 DAY FABRIC PRINTING WORKSHOP £75.00 The perfect introduction to fabric screen printing, our beginner workshop is ideal for anyone interested in learning the complete screen printing process or simply looking to print some tea towels or cushion covers with their own design for a special occasion. The sessions will run from 10am – 4:00pm (subject to class size) with a 30 min break for lunch. The day will be split as follows: Morning After a short intro into the studio and the process you’ll guided through how to coat and expose your design onto your screen. Afternoon After lunch we’ll decide on colours and select print pastes and go through the process of setting up the fabric tables ready for printing. When the screens are dry everyone will have a go at printing their fabric. Each person will walk away with 1 metre of fabric printed with their own 1 or 2 colour design. Outcome You will take away 1 meter of fabric with an experimental 1 to 2 colour printed design. — To book please scroll through the calendar and click the available date (highlighted in green) that you’d like to attend. Create your very own silver chain bracelet during this day workshop. We will guide you through all the processes involved in creating your own design. From cutting, shaping and texturing the silver, through to soldering and polishing. You will create each link and a T bar clasp. This is a fantastic project to help you learn or improve your soldering skills, and a great introduction to jewellery making. WHEN: Saturday 16th November 10-5pm WHERE:  Workshop 925 based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford. Unit F9 The Mayford Centre, Mayford Green Woking, Surrey  GU22 0PP TUTOR: Kirsten Hendrich WHAT DOES THE DAY INVOLVE? Create your very own silver chain bracelet during this day workshop. If you are looking for some inspiration, we have created a Pinterest board to help inspire some ideas. You will be provided with 1.2mm thick wire for your links. We work really hard to make sure our students love what they create, so if you have a chunkier design idea in mind, please get in touch as the material costs increase and it can be more difficult to create thicker links, so we just need to check it is achievable within the time frame. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None, all abilities are welcomed. We support you throughout the session and provide demonstrations to show you the techniques and steps needed to create your own chain bracelet from start to finish. Our small classes mean we are able to provide each student with the support they require. Students must be 16+ Students aged 14 or 15 are able to attend if accompanied by an adult. CLASS SIZE: 7 WHAT IS INCLUDED? All tools and consumables are supplied. The cost of this course includes materials. YOU WILL BE PROVIDED WITH: 10cm of 2mm round wire to create your clasp 1.5 metres of 1.2mm silver round wire for your bracelet links If you wish to purchase additional silver to create alternative link thicknesses (should time allow), we stock silver which you are able to purchase on the day but please run your ideas through with us first by emailing hello@workshop925.com WHAT TO BRING: For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Please bring any PPE, snacks and drinks to each session. We have a microwave, kettle and fridge to store or cook your lunch choices.
