Sailing.jpg RYA Competent Crew This is a 5 day practical course where you can achieve your first major sailing certificate. The RYA Competent Crew course is aimed at beginners to the world of sailing, with little or no experience, who want to become active crew members rather than just passengers. After the course, you will be able to steer a yacht, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in the day-to-day routines of sailing a yacht as well as rope handling and general duties. No age limit. 5 Day Sailing Course - £695 RYA Instructor/Student Ratio max 1:5. We normally sail with 1:4 Check Dates And Availability IMG_2589_cropped.JPG RYA Day Skipper The RYA Day Skipper practical course is aimed at aspiring skippers who have some yachting experience and basic navigation. You’ll learn to skipper short passages, enter and exit ports , emergency skills such as Man Overboard training and how to sail up to and tie up to a mooring buoy. To take this course, you must have completed at least 5 days, 100 miles and 4 night hours on board a sailing yacht, and must be 16 or older. 5 Day Sailing Course - £695 RYA Instructor/Student Ratio max 1:5. We normally sail with 1:4 Check Dates And Availability IMG_3247.JPG RYA Coastal Skipper Or Yachtmaster Offshore Prep The RYA Coastal Skipper practical course is aimed at yachtsmen and women with considerable knowledge of sailing and navigation who are wanting to undertake coastal passages by day and night. After this course, you will have the confidence to skipper a yacht on a coastal passage by day or night. Or if completing the Yachtmaster Offshore prep you will arrange with the school to book a RYA Examiner to take the 8/10 hour practical exam soon afterwards. To take this course(Coastal) you will have completed at least 15 days, 300 miles, 8 night hours and 2 days as skipper on board a sailing yacht, and must be 17 for Coastal and 18 for Yachtmaster Offshore for which you will need 2500 miles and three skippered passages over 60 miles plus 50 night hours. 5 Day Sailing Course - £695 RYA Instructor/Student Ratio max 1:5. This course is a requirement for anyone who owns a fixed or handheld marine VHF radio. The Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio. Materials supplied. VHF book and exam paper. Although not a requirement for the Competent Crew course, it does offer a great opportunity to get on the water and see what it's like before making the leap to a full 5 day course. The 100th BOOBS Approved venue is a new cafe-bar in Swinton, Salford. Hadfields cafe became BOOBS Approved after opening just weeks ago.Be Open on Breastfeeding Salford (B.O.O.B.S) and our sister project BOOBS in Bury are open community groups set up to empower women to be open about their breastfeeding experiences and inspire others to breastfeed for longer. We believe every mum should have the chance to have a happy, safe and comfortable breastfeeding journey. BOOBS is part of our parent social enterprise Visit from the Stork CIC and was first set up in 2014 by CEO Kimberly Bond. The project is led by Rachel Parkinson (Project Manager), Kerry Purle (Administrator and Peer support lead) and our team of amazing volunteers. Meet our team here. We support mums by; Offering online and face-to-face breastfeeding support across Salford and Bury, Running monthly social and educational Breastfeeding cafe events at our BOOBS Approved venues in Salford and Bury Holding antenatal ‘A BOOBS introduction to Breastfeeding’ sessions for mums-to-be, currently in Prestwich but open to all mums. My interest in Yoga and Ayurveda began from a young age and was inspired by rituals, ceremonies and ancient Indian approaches to health and healing observed through family customs and traditions. My mother has been an important role model. She is indeed my first healer and teacher. At first, it was my curiosity of this mystical healing art that led me to read and study more. In my teens, I started attending yoga classes with a well rounded practice of asana, pranayama, rest and meditation. Through living and learning Yoga and Ayurveda, I cultivate such precious awareness of mySelf and life around me. Whilst I continue to learn and grow on my own spiritual journey, I delight in sharing what I learn, gain and receive with others. Nowadays, I passionately integrate the two systems of Yoga and Ayurveda and other holistic health modalities to share therapeutic teachings and practices for groups and individuals to meet different health goals, restore balance and regain vitality. My Mission. Share practices that optimise health and quality of life. Empowering individuals to reclaim their health. In October of 2018, two women connected through mutual friends, but strangers at the time, came together because of a sign ... a ‘For Rent’ sign! Quickly finding out they had shared passions for helping people thrive through movement, cycling for Kelly and yoga for Chrissy, their dream became a reality in Fit2Shine Studio. Just a little over a year after opening, COVID tried to shut the doors, but they pivoted, rebounded, and made it through making changes as needed over the next two years. In 2022, after three years of partnership, they parted ways, and Kelly remains to continue the mission of Fit2Shine Studio. This is a place where people come to find energy, strength, and peace through fitness. With cycling, yoga, and strength classes, we offer healing for the body, mind, and soul. Whether your day calls for you to hop on a bike and ride your heart out (building your cardiovascular system) while having a blast with loud music and strong encouragement in CYCLE class, to discover your physical strength by squatting and lifting heavy things (building your muscular skeletal system) in strength class, or to find your internal strength and peace in yoga class (building your nervous system), you can find it at Fit2Shine Studio. Kathy King is a Science and Psychology specialist who has worked with a variety of vulnerable groups including young people with special educational needs, including social, emotional and behavioural problems, and the homeless. She is passionate about showing others the power of being active in nature and using outdoor activities as a tool to improve wellbeing. Her research has proven that participation in a 6-week Forest School programme can increase attendance and reduce exclusion rates from mainstream school. Applying the fundamentals of the holistic Forest School approach in all that she does, Kathy believes this can create positive changes in behaviour. Kathy made a life-changing decision to leave teaching and enrol on an outdoor instructor programme after experiencing high levels of work-related stress and anxiety. The 2-day a week course provided an opportunity to master new skills and focus on what she considered to be most important in life. It was on the water that the idea for the Wild Camp Training Programme was born. This is a project aimed at young women who are currently out of education, employment and/or training (N.E.E.T) and is designed to empower and increase physical and mental health. Since then, the charity has evolved to deliver after school clubs, forest school sessions, holiday clubs, 1-1 outdoor activity sessions and group days out.

The ASEAN Network for Green Entrepreneurship and Leadership (ANGEL) is co-funded with the ERASMUS+ programme of the European Union (Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education). ANGEL project is a convergence of ASEAN partner institutions’ responses to the strong need for capacity-building while confronting challenges of environmental degradation. In addition, ANGEL aims to support graduates as well as disadvantaged groups to attain a decent income which is derived from quality employment, and enhanced with entrepreneurial-leadership skills. Another goal is to help improve inclusiveness, because gender and other demographic divides exist and derail wealth creation across the ASEAN nations. The mission of ANGEL is to engender impact and transformation for two major target stakeholders of each partner institution in Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Vietnam and Malaysia. The first target group is the internal stakeholders, namely students, academic and non-academic staff, and top management. Within the context of Southeast Asian institutions, the green entrepreneurial mindset and transformational leadership skills and competencies are still new concepts and less implemented. The second target group of ANGEL are the disadvantaged groups within societies in Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Vietnam and Malaysia. This includes women and minorities, poor income groups in both urban and rural communities as well as people with disabilities (PWD). The Asian partners are supported by universities and institutions from Greece and Cyprus.
