We have an excellent reputation both academically and pastorally. This reputation is based on outstanding teaching and learning and high standards and expectations. We expect all our students to work very hard but recognise that the very best learning takes place when it is harnessed to interest and enjoyment. Our curriculum is therefore innovative and relevant and whilst there is a great emphasis on English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Languages, this is balanced by a promotion of and dedication to the arts and creativity.

All change today in Wales. The Housing Act 1988 no longer applies in the sense of assured shorthold tenancies have all converted to occupation contracts and can no longer be granted. These are major changes, though once the dust settles we expect this to be largely "business as usual", collecting rents, doing viewings, arranging repairs etc. Only time will tell if these changes are really the success hoped for or largely cosmetic. We are hearing stories of many landlords leaving the market, and this may cause problems for tenants (now contract-holders!) with a lack of stock and rising prices due to a shortage of properties. The rising rents could be good for landlords who stay and the limited stock will mean landlords can be cautious about to whom they choose to rent. All the best to all agents in Wales with this big change. it is has been a real privilege to help so many of you during this difficult transition.

About me I have been teaching meditation since 2014, and the more I teach the more I love it. If there is one thing that I have learned in my years teaching it is that we are all different, with our own strengths and weaknesses. In order to teach well, I need to get to know each student individually, guiding each to tap into their own innate wisdom, offering instruction that fits each student’s unique circumstances. The ten years I spent as a Buddhist nun afforded me the great privilege of being able to practise meditation in much depth and detail. I was blessed with masterful teachers and all of the support I could have hoped for. I spent five years in Myanmar training diligently in the Theravada tradition under the guidance of Pa Auk Sayadaw. I then spent a further five years training in several other methods, and spent many months doing long solo retreats in various caves and forests.

We have worked with thousands of adults and young people in the real world (as a school intervention and privately) over the last decade, many I expect will go on to change the world, for the better. It has been a privilege. Now it’s time to bring that knowledge to the virtual world and help many more!

I have a passion for education! After 20 years experience working with pupils in the public and private sectors, including my own children, I know what works. At Siobhan Davies Studios we believe in the power of dance for artistic and social change. We connect artists, neighbours and audiences through investigative, collaborative and creative activities at our studios and beyond. Artist and female-led since we were founded, Siobhan Davies Studios has been part of the contemporary dance landscape since the 1980s. Our studios are a place to play, question and experiment and we bring this spirit into all areas of our work. In the last five years, shaped by leadership changes, we have renewed focus on bringing marginalised voices to the fore to evolve a broader community of artists, participants, audiences and workers. We engage the public through classes, performances and co-created participatory activities prioritising engagement with local communities. From 2020, increased budgets in access support for artists and audiences aim to break the status quo of privilege surpassing inclusion. Current local partnerships include working with neighbouring Charlotte Sharman primary school, and charities Su Mano Amiga and Good Chance Theatre. Our award-winning public arts building is in the diverse and densely populated area of Elephant and Castle.
