Your sculpture will continue to grow for years, simple maintence retains the size and shape whilst providing new deep red withies for you to cut and weave with each year. You will learn some basic weaving techniques and learn about how the willow is grown and processed. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. This mosaic workshop for adult beginners is led by Lindsey, who has worked in 3 and 2D design, along with many years experience of teaching art, design and mosaics. During this one day workshop you will learn how to apply a range of tiles using the direct method onto an MDF or plywood base. There will be a large collection of tile material to choose from and you don’t need any previous design or craft experience. You will learn how to create a colourful mosaic design, use tile nippers safely and learn how to apply tiles to a backing board. There will be a choice of bases to work on. The aim is to explore this fascinating craft in a relaxed and friendly environment.

A standalone 10-week quilling course - 2 hours per week online with daytime and evening options - that will introduce you to the materials, tools, and techniques used in quilling and to Craft4Smiles C.I.C and our tutors. At the end of each session you will have a lovely quilled item to show family and friends or to display on your shelf! All materials and equipment needed will be supplied and are yours to keep. This course is helpful for those for whom English is not their native tongue as there is a lot of repetition of basic terms including numbers, colours and directions.
