central football academy

Central Football Academy are based in Grangemouth, Central Scotland. Founded in 2014 as a girls only football club, we opened our boys section in 2015. We have over 175 registered players at the club within both Girls and Boys junior sections as well as our Senior Womens Team. Most teams train twice a week with a fixture usually once a week. Central Football Academy are a SFA Quality Mark Gold Level club. Since inception we have enjoyed great success, winning many titles and have had a multitude of players represent Scotland at various levels, on countless occasions. Inchyra Park in Grangemouth is our home ground. This is where the majority of our team matches and training takes place. Our Senior linked Womens Team play their home matches at Broadwood Stadium (Home of Clyde F.C.) in Cumbernauld. They play in the Scottish Womens Football Championship (3rd tier of womens football). We play our home matches in Cyan and our Senior team play their away matches in white. Our Match-day programme is called ‘View from the Centre’. Since our formation we have been given many affectionate nicknames, but we are most commonly known as “Central” or “The Cyan”. At Central, we have a clear ethos based on equality for all and encourage youth to develop within their own style and most importantly – enjoy playing football, playing with their creativity and as part of a team. We always endeavour to instill belief and confidence in our youth and from the start our motto has been “Imagine…Believe… Achieve…”. Commitment is an essential discipline at Central Football Academy. We at coaching level will give the player, team & academy our full commitment and we expect the same from our players and parents. We are not part of your journey, Central is the journey.

Kids love our after school clubs. Parents do too. At Trinity After School Club we are proud of the exciting and stimulating childcare we offer. We understand each child is different and that they want to get involved in different things. Every day there are planned arts and crafts activities, outdoor games, and quiet time for reading or to do homework. All the children get involved in planning the activities and outings at the after school clubs. They bring new ideas or develop initiatives suggested by the staff. The kids make sure we do interesting things and get involved in the community – from a tooth brushing project, writing a song and a performance on anti-bullying to building relationships with a local elderly residential care home. We make sure there is plenty of variety. Our experienced staff encourage an all-inclusive environment where consideration for others is paramount. Policies and procedures are in place to cover all aspects of childcare to reassure parents and guardians that we have their children's interests at heart. Flexibility of care is important to parents and guardians and we offer full-time (5 days per week) and part-time places (2, 3 or 4 days per week), and we operate a Crocodile Club for P1 and P2 children who finish earlier. We cover most holidays and in-service days and our team plan ahead with the children to offer a great range of holiday activities.

I have been practicing yoga in many forms on and off since I was about 6 years old, but don't worry it's not as intimidating as it sounds! I have always been drawn to South Asian culture and the yogic path. I believe it is very important to honor yoga's long standing traditions and ancient roots and will always try to bring this authenticity to our classes. I am also Scottish and feel deeply connected to the Celtic traditions of following the wheel of the year and being in connection with nature. It's fascintating how these two ancient cultures have so much in common and there is even evidence to suggest they were once closely linked before time and geography honed them into two distinct cultures and societies with a forgotten mystical connection. In my yoga teaching I hope to bring the wisdoms of these two great cultures into our modern lives and celebrate how natural connection can support us on our yoga journey.

Hi, I’m Kathryn and I run antenatal courses and workshops along with baby and postnatal classes in Edinburgh. I teach weekly pregnancy classes and birth and baby workshops, which focus on combining antenatal education with birth hypnosis and breathing techniques, movement for pregnancy wellbeing and active birth and are a great time of the week to focus on you, your pregnancy and your baby. Weekly classes are a great way to help you enjoy a positive pregnancy and meet up with others local to you and at a similar stage in pregnancy as you prepare for your confident birth. I also teach Tinies and Wrigglers daisy baby classes which as well as offering baby massage, yoga and sensory play are all about coming together with other new parents to meet, chat and learn – navigating the journey into parenthood together. What I particularly love is seeing expectant parents meet at antenatal classes and continue with daisy baby classes until 10 to 12 months postpartum offering a real connection and community and seeing friendships grow. My classes are with you every step of the way, as are the community of daisy parents around you connected in class and online to always be there to support you. For everyone that is looking for evidence based information, delivered live and interactive (both online and in person) in a non judgemental space with other like minded new and expectant parents you are in the right place! As a local Mum of two I know just how much of a huge transition it can be becoming a new parent and I am passionate about supporting parental wellbeing and passionately believe in the value of peer support. We’ve all heard the saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and daisy is all about building your village! I trained with The Daisy Foundation in 2013 and have been teaching for daisy classes for over 7 years working with hundreds of parents and families from throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians. I am also a voluntary peer facilitator and lead Positive Birth Edinburgh, as well as being a trained Slingababy Baby Wearing Peer Supporter and a proud member of Edinburgh Birth and Baby. Matthew is a writer and teacher living in Glasgow, Scotland. He studied English Literature at the University of Glasgow and has been teaching English in schools and to foreign language students for fifteen years.  His most recent novel, The Stone in My Pocket, was published by The Conrad Press in 2021 and he also writes short stories, poetry, creative non-fiction, and arts reviews. Matthew has spoken at various book launches, festivals, and writing groups and has been published in several magazines, journals, and anthologies. He is a contributing writer for The Wee Review and won the 2019 National Trust for Scotland Morton Writing Competition.
