Gel Polish is applied to the client’s nail and then cured using an LED or UV lamp to create a longer lasting nail treatment (up to 3 weeks) than a standard manicure. The GTi Gel Polish course covers how to complete gel polish application and demonstrates the correct removal techniques. The course also covers reception and consultation, contra-indications to treatment and aftercare advice. The GTi Tips With Acrylic Overlay course will teach you how to apply the Acrylic System (Liquid and Powder) in conjunction with nail tips. The course covers how to complete the application and demonstrates the correct removal techniques. It also covers reception and consultation, contra-indications to treatment and aftercare advice. On completion of the course you will receive three recognised and insurable qualifications.  Includes: 3 Hard copy take home training manuals. Duration – Fast track two-day practical classroom-based training plus online theory work. Theory work to be completed in your own time via The Guild student portal before your practical course date. Practical day – 10am – 6pm & 10am – 4.30pm inc short lunch break. It is advisable that students arrive 15 mins early to ensure a prompt start. In a lot of cases the practical training can be finished earlier than expected depending on how many students there are, and the time taken on practical work. The inclusion of children with Down syndrome - expectations of behaviour By considering the learning profile of a child with Down syndrome and looking at areas of need this one day course will aim to address areas where difficult behaviours may develop. It will look at expectations, appropriate behaviour, including self help skills and go on to outline positive strategies by focusing on wanted behaviour.

This course is delivered over two 2 hour sessions. The first session covers why we use signing with children with Down syndrome and the signs for manners, animals, food, family and other people, and the alphabet. The second session covers signs for the home, school day, colours, descriptions, time/days, questions and connective/link words. Followed by a discussion on how behaviour can be addressed through introducing signing.

The course introduces Down syndrome to people who have little experience of working with children with Down syndrome and covers society’s view of Down syndrome, health implications, strengths and weaknesses in the classroom and outlines ways to address the specific learning needs and manage behaviours.
