The qualification is aimed at learners already working or preparing to work in industry that is identified within the company's risk assessment of First Aid. The qualification has a recommended course duration of 3 days; however the course duration may be increased to meet additional learning needs if required but not reduced.

The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Plant Operations (Construction) -Compacting qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification. This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work in Compacting within the construction industry. You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification. This qualification supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units: -Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace -Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace The learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in one of the following optional units: -Preparing and operating soil compactors to compact materials in the workplace -Preparing and operating landfill compactors to compact materials in the workplace -Preparing and operating ride-on rollers to compact materials in the workplace Entry Requirements There are no formal entry requirements to take this qualification. This qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.

It focuses instead on core skills employers need in a valeting team; Efficiency Safety Consistency and Results It can be taken by one managing member or a whole team, and is perfect for any experience - from new-starter to long-time member of staff. The day starts with a look at chemical knowledge and safety to ensure all employees know the precautions and potential effects of the chemicals they are using in their work - both to themselves and the materials they are working on. Coupled with general safety at work regulations and delivered by a certified instructor, this will ensure your due diligence and compliance are covered and educate attendees on the importance of chemical safety. We then move on to the practical element, working through all the stages of a consumer-preferred safe wash and interior valet, from inspection through to protection applications, all in the most time-efficient manner possible to deliver showroom results, with demonstration and involvement in all stages and time management to ensure a constant and predictable workflow. By the end of the Stage 1 day, attendees will be well versed in all aspects of basic valeting skills and can either return to implement their new skill set or progress to Stage 2 to enhance the value further. Interior odour removal and deep cleaning techniques. Stone chip and small area scratch removal and refinement. Please note: Stage 1 must be completed before Stage 2, though they can be booked on consecutive days. With the combined Stage 1 and 2 certification, attendees will be able to address various valeting requirements and can complete quite complex jobs efficiently, and satisfactorily in-house. This IMI Level 4 Award is designed for those personnel who, in the course of their daily work, are required to work ‘live’ on the electric/hybrid vehicle power train. On completing this qualification those personnel will have gained and extensive knowledge and skills level of high voltage technologies and their dangers. The content of this qualification has been designed in close liaison with industry specialists, electric vehicle manufacturers, training providers, the HSE and the IMI.

Domestic Oil (aka OFTEC Courses)

This IMI qualification is designed for technicians who maintain, diagnose and repair high and low voltage operating systems on electric/hybrid vehicles. It contains the skills and knowledge required to work safely around a vehicles high and low voltage electrical system and electric drive train system, whilst carrying out repairs or maintenance. It also contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely around the vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electrical system. On completing this qualification, technicians will have gained knowledge of both low and high voltage technologies and an understanding of their dangers. The content of this qualification has been designed to give learners the knowledge and skills required to work safely around Electric/Hybrid vehicles whilst carrying our diagnostic, testing and repair activities.
