The VTCT Level 3 Award in Education and Training will enable the learner to enter teaching employment and progress on to a broader teaching qualification. Learn Traditional Leather Craft, Saddle Stitching And Leather Goods Construction Skills A week-long masterclass offering an in-depth experience of traditional leather craft skills and hand sewing techniques, merging theory with hands-on learning. Dates/times: Five consecutive days - Mon-Fri 10am-5pm Understand the uniqueness of vegetable-tanned leather and the amazing long lasting products that can be created with this material. Proficiently handle traditional hand tools, master various hand-sewing techniques, and understand pattern drafting for the creation of handmade goods. You will gain insights into the technical aspects of leatherworking, including preparation, marking, cutting, gluing, reinforcing, skiving, debossing, finishing, and more. You will create a finished leather bag as well as personalised samples to take home for reference in your future projects.You will conclude the masterclass with the ability to craft entirely handmade leather items and master essential skills such as cutting, finishing, and saddle stitching. You will be taught by a prototype maker and manufacturer with 20 years of experience in this field. In this private workshop, you'll learn the basics of knitting using a vintage knitting machine to create wearable textiles.  🧶What is machine knitting & who invented it?  The knitting machine was invented by Englishman William Lee in 1589 to make stockings. it's a very small manual machine that enables the maker to create fine, fast knitting. Machine knitting was one of the first major stages in the textile industry that led to the Industrial Revolution. It’s still in use today but unfortunately, it’s become a forgotten craft! So we’re here to bring it back! During this creative and therapeutic class your teacher Valeria will guide you through designing and making your own knitted artwork. You'll learn how to use the vintage knitting ‘machine’ and listen to the wonderful sound it produces as the needles move. The process of machine knitting enables you to have full control over your design. Many people find machine knitting therapeutic and relaxing as you can watch and listen to your artwork come to life. Not only that the results look like those of an expert (even for absolute beginners). 🧶What can you make? It’s smooth, quick performance is perfect for making a range of knits – from home accessories to stylish garments - knit long trendy scarves, and quirky tote bags in under 3 hours… Smaller items only take minutes to do. She has worked in a high-end knitwear design studio and as a fashion buyer and now she makes kids and adult knitwear @maluk_knitwear (maluk meaning little one in Ukrainian). About this Training Course To the non-geologist, working with Petroleum Geologists can be confusing. Petroleum geology has specific terminology and many concepts and data sources unfamiliar to the uninitiated. This course has been designed to introduce these terms and provide an insight into how oil and gas are formed, how they are found and how they are extracted. Using a holistic combination of lectures, experiments, case study and practical exercises, the course involves an introduction to fundamental geological concepts, to exploration techniques, prospecting, drilling, well logs and recovery methods.
