Fast Beginners Lindy Hop Workshop with Simon Selmon This workshop is all about mastering technique, building strong connection, and packing in as many exciting moves as possible! Simon's goal is to have you dancing with confidence and style in record time—and he's famous for making even the toughest steps feel effortless! No partner required and whilst no experience is necessary, the class will move at a faster pace than absolute beginners but is also suitable for those with some experience.

In this private workshop, you'll learn the basics of knitting using a vintage knitting machine to create wearable textiles.  🧶What is machine knitting & who invented it?  The knitting machine was invented by Englishman William Lee in 1589 to make stockings. it's a very small manual machine that enables the maker to create fine, fast knitting. Machine knitting was one of the first major stages in the textile industry that led to the Industrial Revolution. It’s still in use today but unfortunately, it’s become a forgotten craft! So we’re here to bring it back! During this creative and therapeutic class your teacher Valeria will guide you through designing and making your own knitted artwork. You'll learn how to use the vintage knitting ‘machine’ and listen to the wonderful sound it produces as the needles move. The process of machine knitting enables you to have full control over your design. Many people find machine knitting therapeutic and relaxing as you can watch and listen to your artwork come to life. Not only that the results look like those of an expert (even for absolute beginners). 🧶What can you make? It’s smooth, quick performance is perfect for making a range of knits – from home accessories to stylish garments - knit long trendy scarves, and quirky tote bags in under 3 hours… Smaller items only take minutes to do. Valeria will work with you to design and make what you want. All materials and tools are included and your artwork is yours to take home and wear with pride. 🧶Why use a knitting Machine over hand-held? Unlike hand knitting, the beauty of using a domestic knitting machine is that you can knit fast and use much finer yarns to create wearable textiles with a professional artistic finish. There will be far fewer mistakes making it less stressful & it’s super fast.  Your teacher Valeria is an experienced designer/maker with a passion for knitwear. She has worked in a high-end knitwear design studio and as a fashion buyer and now she makes kids and adult knitwear @maluk_knitwear (maluk meaning little one in Ukrainian). About this Training Course To the non-geologist, working with Petroleum Geologists can be confusing. Petroleum geology has specific terminology and many concepts and data sources unfamiliar to the uninitiated. This course has been designed to introduce these terms and provide an insight into how oil and gas are formed, how they are found and how they are extracted. Using a holistic combination of lectures, experiments, case study and practical exercises, the course involves an introduction to fundamental geological concepts, to exploration techniques, prospecting, drilling, well logs and recovery methods. The course will also demystify the terminology surrounding petroleum geology, demonstrate the use of geological information to show the value and weakness of different datasets, and lead to better communication and decision-making between the geologists and non-geologists. It will feature world-class virtual reality field trips that incorporate activities and features unavailable in the physical field, and provide for a more integrated and flexible learning resource (also see the trainer's article on page 4 which was first published in GEO ExPro Magazine, the upstream oil and gas industry's favourite magazine). In delivering the Exploration Team Management Workshop, she has project managed and taught key principles and modules on project planning, data collection/collation, geophysical assessment, stratigraphy and facies mapping, source rock facies and hydrocarbon generation, play fairway mapping, risking and prospect evaluation.
