You can start your baby’s swimming journey as soon as you feel ready to visit a warm swimming pool. We have had babies taking their first swim at only four weeks old. The sooner you start swimming lessons for your baby the better their understanding and confidence in the water will be. Your baby’s first experience in a structured swimming lesson is a wonderful and gentle introduction to water sensory techniques. We will teach you how to be comfortable and confident holding, moving, floating and playing with your baby in the pool.

Our programme for toddlers is aimed at teaching your child water confidence, key lifesaving skills, a life long love of the water and building the first steps towards swimming unaided. In our sessions your child will benefit from increasing strength, coordination and exercises focused in progression and enjoyment at every lesson. We use songs and games to ensure your little one loves the time you spend together in the pool. We put emphasis on having lots of fun.

Aqua Jems Ltd was established to provide a different approach to teaching swimming to babies, toddlers, pre-school and school age children. Our lessons are progressive and inclusive, building a close, trusting relationship between the parent and baby and then teacher and child. This enables a personalised and bespoke service in a safe, friendly style, within a warm relaxed environment, this ensures the progression of each and every swimmer is optimised. From birth to competitive swimming! Our teachers are in the water and very stroke focused, with very small class sizes, we are able to give every swimmer the attention and correction they need every lesson. We have a max of 4 children per teacher in every class for school aged children and 8 children when parents are in the water to ensure great progress is made by every child.

Every Adult Swimming teacher is highly qualified in teaching swimming, SE Level 2, a Lifeguard Qualification, First Aid, Certified in Safeguarding Adults and current DBS checked. We simply know and love our job and programme, We are proud to be one of the best swim schools in your area.

We have single lesson and lesson packages for you to choose from. Our single lesson lengths can be 30min, 45min, 60min or 120min and our packages contain 3, 5, or 10 lessons.

Emergency learn to swim, private 1-1 lessons are for those who need to learn to swim quickly. These are offered as single 2 hour sessions, ideal for swimmers or 5 x 2hr packages, ideal for non-swimmers. Baby Squids Basingstoke Hospital We have baby swimming lessons in Basingstoke available from our fantastic Hydrotherapy Pool located within Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. Our Basingstoke baby swimming lessons can easily be accessed from Basingstoke, Sherborne St John, Tadley, Bramley, Old Basing and other surrounding villages.

School age children can enroll onto our Beginners, Intermediate or Advance Level swimming lessons. At the majority of these lessons, the teacher is in the water for best teaching practice and support. At Beginners Level, an assistant may help in the water. At more Advance Level, the teacher may instruct and supervise the group lesson from poolside. Nervous swimmers are introduced to move around the pool with buoyancy aids in a group. Your teacher will help your child to develop confidence and submerge the face in the water from the first lesson.
