We run group matwork classes in Westbury Park, and Chew Valley. Our mat courses run in 10 week blocks continuously throughout the year. We cater for all levels and our classes are taught in small groups. Level 1 This Pilates class is suitable for complete beginners or someone who has only attended a few classes. Level 2 This Pilates class is suitable for someone who has done some Pilates and is looking for a bit more of a challenge. Level 3 This is a faster paced Pilates class aimed at someone who has a lot of Pilates experience and is looking for an even greater challenge. Level 4 This is our most advanced Pilates class and particularly suited to someone with good knowledge of all the original Pilates repertoire and also likes a challenging and flowing class. Barre A barre class combines the framework of ballet techniques with Pilates for increased flexibility and strength. It is a fun, energising class which will give you a full body workout. Barre is accessible to everyone and there’s no need to have any previous movement experience. Vinyasa Flow Yoga Vinyasa means linking body movement to breath ‘to place in a special way’. Every class is linked to one of the 4 elements, Earth, Water, Fire & Air corresponding to opening different parts of the physical body to link body, mind and spirit. Hatha Flow Yoga This is an energising and fluid class with an emphasis on holding poses for longer and synchronising movement with breath. All poses are offered in stages starting from beginners to more advanced levels giving students an opportunity to choose the right one for them. The class will finish with regenerating practices and shavasana/deep relaxation pose. Studio Equipment Classes At our Westbury Park studio and Chew Valley studio we have a more personal experience with studio equipment based Pilates. The exercises and intensity are carefully tailored to meet your specific needs and goals. The exercises are performed on a Reformer, Cadillac and split pedal stability chairs. We also work with smaller pieces of equipment such as balls, bands, foam rollers, and Arc Barrels. The Reformer This is the most popular and versatile piece of Pilates equipment. The carriage glides on rails, moving in response to the use of attached springs, pulleys and ropes. The reformer facilitates hundreds of strengthening and stretching exercises. The Cadillac/Trapeze Table This is a raised horizontal table topped by a four- poster canopy frame on which bars, straps and springs are attached. A wide variety of exercises can be performed on the Cadillac. From gentle, spring assisted movement to advanced acrobatics. The Wunda Chair This is a box with 4 springs and a split pedal. The exercises enhance stability, balance and body control. It focuses on upper and lower body strength and conditioning and makes the chair a great tool for improving general fitness. Open Studio Classes At our Westbury Park studio and Chew Valley studio we run Open Studio classes. Our Open Studio classes are taught as circuits that utilise all the Pilates equipment and small props. Over 5 weeks you are invited to practice a variety of moves on each piece of equipment, including The Reformer, The Cadillac and The Wunda Chair. The emphasis is on repeating the same circuit each week for 5 weeks to build your confidence and improve your practice.

I meet many subtle revolutionaries. One thing most have in common is that they struggle to describe what it is they do. They are doing something unique and it does not have a name yet. They may work with individuals, families or organisations. They may call themselves a consultant, founder, coach, designer, therapist, trainer, teacher, facilitator, researcher or leader. Often, they are all of these things and more. What they have in common is they are making lives better in new and unexpected ways. This is not a straightforward path. Few workplaces welcome any of the three qualities. I have yet to find one that wants all three. Working on the big picture is seen as a distraction from the urgent business of the day. It is easy to pick up the message that the approach - perhaps your greatest strength - has no value. That leads to unfulfilling work and the exhaustion of trying to be someone you are not. When you try to use these qualities, you will meet another challenge. Most of the existing advice will not work for you effectively. It is either outdated or just plain wrong. Some of it will even make things worse. This leads to anxiety and frustration. Perhaps even the sense of being a failure when things just don’t work out as intended time after time. I provide space as you reclaim the qualities that make you unique. I offer guidance as we explore ways to turn that uniqueness into a valuable enterprise. We have set up The Sid Youth to support young people and families living in our community. Having lived in the Adur and Worthing area for 30 years I have seen the changes in support available to young people and families. I have worked with young people and families for 17 years in a variety of roles including youth work, school behaviour team, Early Help keyworker, and most recently as a REBOOT youth coach. I have experience of supporting those with complex and challenging needs including school refusal, family breakdown, the use of drugs and alcohol, mental health, and young people involved in crime or at risk of exploitation. I enjoy working with a strength-based approach and helping young people overcome barriers and challenges they face but the main thing I believe in is to work with the young person rather than for the young person which helps to ensure they have ownership over the support they receive. I strongly believe that the mentoring we offer really can help support young people in making and sustaining positive changes and educate them around some key subjects that are not always covered in school. I'm really excited to be planning and creating different sessions that will benefit the young people in our community and believe that young people are the experts of their own lives and that at times everyone can need some support. It is often said that young people are “making poor choices”. I believe that this can often be seen as a poor choice by adults but may in fact be the best choice the young person has at that time.

Better Training works in partnership with Abingdon and Witney college (Officially the most successful college in Oxfordshire) to achieve excellence through professional and modern training methods to deliver a blended learning experience. In September 2021 the College awarded us the title of " Outstanding provider " which was a great achievement in a very difficult year. What does Better Training Provide? Better Training has been providing Maths and English courses to the forces for the last 15 years. The tutors are very experienced, enthusiastic and sympathetic to your needs. We know that many of you struggle with these subjects for one reason or another and it is our aim to make your time with us as painless as possible. What to expect The courses we deliver vary in length depending on the difficulty level. GCSE Maths and English courses are each 10 days long with the Functional Skills Maths and English courses each being 5 days long. To enable us to provide a targeted and streamlined delivery, you will be asked to carry out a diagnostic test as part of a pre-course learning package. We are a volunteer led work with very few staff, but this does not mean we are a small organization. We can see as many as 300 people a day, looking for our assistance. We remain open every day Our impact remains high We can do this for a fraction of the cost of other day centres. We do this without any statutory funding. We recognize the true strength of our volunteers. And we recognize the value of everybody coming through our doors. First, we help people by meeting immediate needs: food, shelter, clothing, and medical care. In our recovery programs, we address deeper needs for life-skills and job-skills training, and addiction recovery. We measure our progress against four criteria, which indicate to us that a life has been transformed from homelessness to hope: connection to family, commitment to sobriety, a job and a place to live, and a plan for the future. Dancer Choreographer Dance and Fitness instructor Personal trainer Bootyful® creator and founder Strength and conditioning for dancers and athletes Ana has been academically trained in jazz technique, and participating in various dance styles workshops and seminars around the globe (Belgium, Senegal, New York, UK) which gave her exposure to a variety of different dance styles techniques and choreography approaches. She is also a personal trainer and fitness enthusiast. Her admiration of human body and movement merged the two disciplines and made her dance fitness expert with over 15 years of experience. Using her knowledge, experience and expertise she created original and unique dance fitness concept Bootyful®. Her passion lies in helping people live the healthiest and happiest lives, feeling good in their own skin and helping them to recognise their own potential. Ana is regularly teaching dance and fitness classes in the UK and international, helping general public and athletes to achieve their goals and as a personal trainer, she is constantly sharing her knowledge and inspiring students in higher education as a guest and an associate lecturer in dance. She has also established Bootyful® Instructor Training course where she is tutor, assessor and coordinator. She is continuing her professional development by constantly updating her knowledge on different industry recognised courses relating to dance, exercise, tutoring and assessments.
