Living Song exists to empower Young Artists and build communities through singing. We challenge limiting assumptions about what all young people can achieve, put young leaders centre stage and create innovative lifelong learning opportunities for all, insisting on diversity and inclusion in their widest sense. In August 2017, Living Song became a Community Interest Community (CIC) to enable us to build wider partnerships with Newham Council and other organizations, develop our funding steams and to create more opportunities for young people and communities to shine through singing. An advisory board was appointed, and we have continued to go from strength to strength. Who Are We? The company is directed by an Executive Director, with a board of two Non-Executive Directors and a team of advisors from across a wide range of music performance and education contexts. We have a Youth Board of five young people aged 16 – 25 who meet regularly to discuss and advise of relevant issues for them. We work with a range of tutors, artists and music practitioners, identified for their bespoke skills and experience for each project. Who Do We Work With? We work with schools and pupil referral units, community organisations, music education hubs, libraries, local authorities, commercial organisations, businesses and a range of community singing groups and choirs. What We Do Living Song has recently reviewed its work programme to see how it can be streamlined to maximise our impact. During the next 18 months – two years we will focus our attention on delivering three core programme areas which are: A Young Artist apprenticeship /’future leaders’ programme Delivering workshops in schools and the wider community A tailored Living Song Choral Music Experience (CME) These work areas are outlined in more detail below. Although distinct projects, the three areas of work overlap and reinforce each other, for example, a core element of the young leaders’ programme is the delivery of workshops in schools or for the wider community, and a handful of participants will be chosen to join Living Song’s CME course. A group of ten like-minded dog owners got together and held an Inaugural meeting May 1985 when it was agreed that an application be submitted to the Kennel Club. Trent Park Dog Agility Club was born and it became the first ‘Agility only’ registered club. In the early days, ‘heavy’ homemade equipment was used – can anyone else remember the annual Paint and Repair days – not to mention the Dog Walk with extendable Tri-Pod legs? We were a group of enthusiastic dog owners who shared a passion for the fast-growing sport of Dog Agility and basically learnt as we went along. There were the usual hic-cups to be negotiated along the way but the Club went from strength to strength. An open evening was held in January 1986 with demonstrations and talks to attract new members. Trent Park Dog Agility Club held its’ first Agility Show at Picketts Lock Centre (before the cinema was built) on September 1986. It consisted of four classes: Starters Jumping and Agility + Novice Jumping and Agility. Entry fees were only £1.50 and class numbers averaged between 50 – 60. Our judges were Tony Veal and Yvonne Tate. Trent Park Dog Agility Club went on to hold an Annual Show until September 2013. The only exception being in 1997, when at short notice, the show was cancelled as it coincided with the funeral of Lady Diana, the Princess of Wales. A donation of £1,367.55 was sent to the memorial fund, being the balance of show entries received less requested refunds and disbursements. Club members also travelled to many local shows, usually in convoy, pre M25. In the early days, all clear rounds ran off at the end of the Class to produce the winner. Much has changed since then. We are now part of the Agility Club league. Currently, Trent Park Dog Agility Club has over 30 training members and a wonderful variety of dogs. We have replaced those old heavy pieces of equipment with up to date kit and aluminium contact gear. The arena’s rubber flooring has been replaced with a sandy substrate. Our members are enthusiastic, supportive and social. It is a great place to come and learn together.

This is due to a total commitment to excellent teaching and learning by a highly skilled and dedicated staff, constantly reflecting upon and developing their own practice. Many members of staff are former pupils. Our school is inclusive in nature and values young people of all abilities from year 7 to year 13. We encourage them to care for one another and the school, to work as a team and to take on leadership roles. There is also a genuine care for and partnership with the young people in our care and their families. Our current priorities in school include a focus on wellbeing, particularly mental health for both staff and pupils. The development of a curriculum intent that ensures all pupils are able to develop their knowledge and passions is taking place within all subject areas in school. During the seven years our pupils are with us they are given the skills and access to opportunities needed to make the next steps in to their adult lives. As a school we are never quite satisfied and build ongoing self-evaluation in to the school calendar to allow us to constantly review and reflect on our practice in order to improve. Alder Grangers are rightly proud of their school and our often repeated phrase, ‘once an Alder Granger always an Alder Granger,’ reflects the strength of feeling our young people have for their school. I have been a member of staff at Alder Grange since 1998 and I feel immensely proud and privileged to be Headteacher. PY Therapies is an independent Pilates and Yoga studio. This means that as a teacher and therapist I can maintain the integrity of what I teach without recourse to "branded" models of Pilates and Yoga. I work closely with Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Physiotherapists and other Holistic Practitioners to provide a complete clinical referral system. PY Therapies Pilates Studio Having come to Pilates and Yoga more than 20 years ago via my own search for a rehabilitation programme following the births of my four children, I wanted to share this knowledge and provide a safe and nurturing environment where clients could exercise with dignity and improve their condition regardless of age or ability. The studio has been specifically designed and equipped to ensure comfort and safety as well as challenge you as you strengthen your body using, in the first instance, gentle yet powerful low range movement performed in alignment to address any issues and correct musculoskeletal imbalance. Therapeutic Pilates and Yoga Mat Bench classes are small (max 4) and are designed to teach concentration, control, centering, precision and slow, flowing movement in harmony with the breath to promote functional strength, improve posture and promote grace and balance. Each mat bench station (medical grade vinyl) has its own dedicated box of small equipment, which is sterilised after each use. Everyone is personally assessed by myself prior to taking part. In some cases, I may recommend one to one tuition in the first instance. Some of the services we offer include: Mat Bench Classes (max 4, small equipment). Duets, Trios and One to one personal training using larger equipment such as the Pilates Reformer, Pilates chair and Iyengar Yoga wall. Interactive live online classes and consultations. Ante and post-natal care are available to ensure you are in tip top condition to give birth and to assist return to fitness afterwards. Sports specific training to prevent and treat injury as well as enhance performance to ensure you derive optimum pleasure and results from your chosen sport. Carole Jacobs also delivers workshops designed to your requirements, corporate, teacher training or private. I am also a Reiki Master Practitioner and massage therapist and these therapies are also available to enhance your wellbeing and improve physical condition.

Yoga360 with Simon Hoten (pronounced Yoga three sixty) creates yoga practices, classes, workshops and retreats. As the number 360 reflects the number of degrees in a full or whole circle, Yoga360 reflects a focus on the whole person.   Founder: Simon Hoten I have been practising & studying yoga since 2003 and teaching since 2010. As a yoga teacher I am British Wheel of Yoga accredited. I am also a qualified meditation teacher and certified iRest™ Teacher (iRest yoga nidra / Guided meditation) I started my personal meditation practise with a 10 day silent Vipassana meditation retreat in New Zealand in March 2003. Following this revelatory experience, I went to my first yoga class a few days later, with the primary intention of improving my flexibility so that I could sit more comfortably during meditation. However at my very first class I became intrigued about the physical yoga practise as well as meditation and this soon developed into the passion that it is today. My teaching style is one of emphasis on the breath, healthy alignment, flow of movement, building strength & flexibility, whilst also giving an opportunity for deep relaxation. I aim for all my classes to be open and friendly whilst also being focused. I am very keen in sharing the benefits of private / one on one teaching, having personally seen the depth in my own practise develop following such a setting. As a yoga teacher I come with 25 years of experience of a fast-paced, city working-life and all the pressures, expectations and challenges that this lifestyle brings. I have seen the positives that yoga can bring first hand including supporting improved focus and energy as well as helping alleviate symptoms of stress and supporting improved sleep patterns particularly after long periods of travelling. With a regular asana practise, I have also significantly benefited from improved posture, flexibility and movement in my body where there were restrictions, particularly following the effects of a severe femur fracture in my 20's and subsequent 12 month recovery period in hospital.
