This qualification recognises the skills, knowledge and competence required of an individual in order to work in an unsupervised capacity, including the values and principles of adult social care and the ability to plan and deliver chair–based exercise to either disabled adults or frailer older adults.

Duration 3 Days Validity 3 years Course Overview The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (FREC) Requalification is a nationally recognised course designed for individuals who currently hold a valid FREC Level 3 certificate and need to renew their qualification. This course is ideal for those working in emergency services, event medical sectors, and high-risk environments who want to maintain their competency in providing life-saving care during emergency situations. Learners will refresh their knowledge and skills in key areas of emergency care, ensuring they are up to date with current best practices and legal requirements. Upon successful completion, participants will be requalified to deliver first response emergency care in various professional roles, including Event Medical Responders. What’s Covered Refreshing roles and responsibilities of a First Responder Conducting comprehensive patient assessments Updated adult, child, and infant CPR & AED usage Managing airways, including the use of suction and airway adjuncts Administering first aid for medical emergencies (e.g., asthma, diabetes, and seizures) Handling traumatic injuries, including fractures, dislocations, and spinal injuries Managing catastrophic bleeding with tourniquets and haemostatic dressings Administering emergency oxygen Treating shock, chest injuries, and burns Managing unconscious casualties Reviewing incident reporting and legal responsibilities Entry Requirements Participants must hold a valid Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (FREC) certificate that is within the allowed requalification period. There are no additional formal entry requirements, though learners are expected to have prior experience in emergency care. Course Information Venue: All our 'Open' courses are delivered from our dedicated training venue: Pulse South Coast Ltd, Bentley Wildfowl, Harveys Lane, Ringmer, BN8 5AF On occasion we may use a separate venue, this will be advised on the course booking. Facilities: On your course you will be provided with tea & coffee making facilities and biscuits. We are in a rural location so we recommend brining lunch with you on the day. There is a microwave & fridge on site for your use. There is a garage that is approximately a 10 minute drive from our venue. Parking: We have a dedicated car park that is approximately a 300m walk to the training venue. There is no additional cost to use this parking. We accept no responsibility for any personal loss or theft while you are on our training courses or premises. Please ensure to keep your personal belongings safe at all times. What is required from you: All courses are delivered in English, you must have a basic understanding of the English language to attend. There is a requirement for you to show that you are capable of performing the skills you are taught on the course, due to this you will need to be physically able to demonstrate all practical elements of the course. Dress: As a company we pride ourselves on running immersive & practical training courses. You will often be expected to kneel & work outdoors, please dress appropriately. Identification: As we deliver Ofqual accredited courses, there is a requirement for you to show a form of ID on the first day of the course. This could be; a driving license, passport or something that clearly shows who you are. Timings: All of our courses have a minimum training time of six hours a day, we will often advertise a course as seven hours to include break times. On occasion it is required to go over the scheduled times, however this will always be discussed with the group on the day. Trainer: During your course you will have a designated trainer for the duration. They are there not only to assess for the qualification, but to offer you guidance and support throughout. Entry Requirements This training is suitable for: All Healthcare Assistants, Support Workers & Lymphoedema Assistants. Learning Format Your course is made up of a blended learning format meaning your content and modules will be taught through self-guided independent study and face to face clinical skills workshops.   So, whether you're learning style is social, solitary, visual, kinesthetic, auditory or a combination we have a learning style to help you get the best out of the course. We hope that you make the most out of the tools that are available to you throughout the course but don't worry if you are not the most "tech-savvy", we have real people on hand to help you every step of the way. Assessment Criteria All students will undergo a series of course specific formative & summative assessments. Throughout the course you will be assessed through observation of practical tasks, written assessments, assignments, research and online tests. Course Contents On completion you will have a thorough understanding of Anatomy, Physiology and pathophysiology, allowing you to assess and treat lymphoedema with essential management skills of compression, movement and drainage, skincare, risk reduction and understanding and assisting with technical skills. An ongoing theme throughout the training will be our focus on treatment, health, wellness, and lifestyle skills. Training will include a deeper look at the lymphatic system and drainage pathways. Through our research using Lymphofluoroscopy Imaging (ICG), we will introduce you to Fluoroscopy Guided Manual Lymphatic Drainage (FG-MLD®) and the ‘Fill & Flush’ technique. On completion of this training, you will have the theory and skills to treat the patient with more complex and challenging lymphatic conditions, including the management of midline oedema ensuring we provide you with skills to get faster, long lasting results from your treatment. LOOKING FOR: NON-FICTION Eli Keren started his publishing career at Curtis Brown before joining United Agents as an assistant in 2016. In 2021 he became an associate literary agent, representing a growing list of clients across fiction and non-fiction, actively seeking books that are going to make a positive impact in the world in some way, big or small. His role as an agent at Curious Minds Literary Agency began in 2024. Before working in books, Eli was a research scientist designing and synthesising novel drugs (white coat and everything), and science books remain a particular passion of his. In 2022 he wrote and taught a HOW TO WRITE A PROPOSAL course, and in 2023 was elected treasurer of the Association of Authors’ Agents, and in 2024 he judged the inaugural Bloomsbury Academic Writing Fellowship. Eli specialises in helping academics, scientists and researchers to bring their area of expertise to the mass-market in authoritative, ideas-led books in the fields of smart science and current affairs. He is particularly interested in popular science and cultural history, as well as issues-led books and social justice. Eli only occasionally works with memoir.  He is very keen to see non-fiction LGBTQ+ themed books. He enjoys books written by writers who are obsessed with a niche subject and skilled enough communicators to make others fall in love with their subject too. Ultimately he wants to find books that are going to change the world for the better.  Eli would like you to submit a covering letter, 1 -2 page synopsis and the first 5,000 words of your completed manuscript in a single word document.
