Aims Participants will undertake a concise yet equally engaging training program covering all essential aspects of enforcing health and safety codes of practice at construction sites. Topics include in-depth discussions on risk assessments and effective methods for monitoring and managing industry-specific hazards. Instructions For online courses labeled “Remote Learning,” a tutor will deliver the training via video call. All SMSTS courses are delivered and assessed in English. Black CSCS Card NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management This qualification is for site managers who are responsible for leading projects, controlling resources, and overseeing quality standards. You are expected to be employed in site management, ideally overseeing, or starting to oversee, projects or sites. You will be responsible for leading teams, maintaining, and improving the standards of work. You may work across one or more of the following pathways: Building and Civil Engineering Highways Maintenance Residential Development Conservation Demolition Furthermore, this NVQ provides your recognition as a Construction Site Manager and offers you a route to professional memberships such as MCIOB. Induction - As soon as you register you will be given a dedicated assessor. They will arrange an induction and together with your assessor you will decide on the pathway which best proves your competency. The induction is used to plan out how you will gather the relevant evidence to complete the course. During the course - The assessor will work with you to build a portfolio of evidence that allows you to showcase your knowledge, skills and experience. The assessor will also regularly review and provide you with feedback. This will allow you to keep on track to progress quickly. By passing and maintaining your Site Management Safety Training Scheme training you are able to prove that you are complying with the demands and laws regarding construction health and safety. 5 day SMSTS courses are considered to be an indication of the competence of a Site Manger according to the Approved Code of Practice for the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM). The Site Safety Plus SMSTS course was introduced on 1 April 2002 as part of the Site Safety Plus CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme. All Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificates issued after 1st January 2001 are valid for a five year period from the date of issue. The two day refresher course will enable current SMSTS certificate holders to renew their qualification, however this course can only be attended by current and valid CITB SMSTS certificate holders. The CITB SMSTS Refresher certificate training course is designed to ensure that personnel maintain and up-date their current health and safety knowledge. The course covers changes to legislation, approved codes of practice and best working practice within the industry. Individuals wishing to renew their SMSTS training certificate must provide a copy of the original five-day course certificate. Details of the course venue and the date of the course should also be provided if known. Only those individuals who have passed the five day course and provided evidence of this will be eligible to take the two day refresher course.
