Studio Budgie Galore Ltd (also known as Sheffield Jewellery School) is run by Julie-Ann Weiss (Jules) and is based at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet in Sheffield. A custom built jewellery and craft workshop providing a range of jewellery making courses and craft courses. The studio offers a range of silversmith courses, silver jewellery making classes and jewellery making courses including one day and weekend workshops, 8 week daytime and evening classes and birthday parties for all age ranges and abilities.

Since April 2012, possessing our own workshop, Scarlet's Fairy Folk create unique one-off, original one-of-a-kind, jewelled fairies in different styles, handcrafted with superb materials. Our handcrafted, jewelled fairies are made to order and can be posted worldwide. We also offer beginners fairy making workshops, silver jewellery & basic silversmith workshops for adults or children aged 11+ on a one to one basis or groups up to 15 people. (All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult on any of our courses). Our goal is to provide a fun experience whilst learning a new skill. No previous experience is necessary and all tools and materials will be provided. We have Full Public Liability Insurance with Hencilla Canworth Limited and a Full DBS Check Certificate. At our workshops you will be able to create stunning, unique gifts for friends & family and learn a new skill in a non-rushed & relaxing rural environment. We are based near Fleet in Hampshire, close to Junction 4a of the M3, or alternatively at any venue of your choice. Pick ups from Fleet or Blackwater train stations by arrangement. My Grandpa Stanley Waughman started me off with woodwork at the age of 3 - a good solid age for a girl to start working with hand tools. He was a leather worker by trade and, because of this, his hands were huge, hard and calloused – he could cusp a wasp in them without feeling its sting. As a child I knew he must be very important because his name, Stanley, was written on all his tools. Up until I was 6 years old I lived in Galston, Ayrshire, and just two doors down from my Grandparents. Ours was a quiet little cul-de-sac, except on days where I played my bright, plastic Fisher Price record player on the street corner. This was in the early 80’s, when we all played outside and scuffed knees and grubby nails were a sign of a good days play. I’d pick up pretty bits and bobs and pop them in my pockets to show my friends – some pretty stones, a handful of gooseberries, and once, the severed head of a pheasant that sent them scarpering and squealing. I just thought the feathers were beautiful. To this day, I still have a soft spot for pheasants.

Suitable for beginners, hand crafted silver jewellery making and silver silversmithing workshops courses can accommodate 1 to 5 people in the group with discounted rates the larger the group, so why not get some friends / work colleagues together and come along?

Based in our home town of Leeds, we are a nationally recognised community enterprise. Seagulls was founded by Cat and Kate around a kitchen table in 2002. We have three core aims: PEOPLE- to provide training, volunteering and employment opportunities for some of the most marginalised people across Leeds. PLANET- to divert waste materials from landfill for the benefit of the Leeds community, raising awareness for recycling and reuse, whilst reducing carbon emissions. PROFIT- to generate income and ultimately become a self sustaining enterprise. We seek to improve the environment through the recycling and reuse of paint materials. Alongside the creation of work for disadvantaged people and groups; in addition to selling low-cost high-quality paint products to the local community. So far we have diverted 4 million litres of paint from landfill. This is the equivalent to filling 50,000 household baths with paint! With people and the environment at the core of our business, we are well placed to educate people. For example, teaching people the importance of reusing and recycling unwanted household materials. We have built a unique and creative local enterprise whilst thinking outside of the box, both in our approach to business and people.

WiFi is free and although smoking is not permitted in the house we do have a designated smoking area outside. Start your day with a scrumptious breakfast cooked on the Aga and enjoy it whilst looking out onto the gorgeous gardens surrounding the house. We can provide packed lunches or dinner for you by prior arrangement. We can also arrange to have Melton Mowbray Pork Pie or Colston Basset Stilton Cheese to be ordered in for you if you don’t get time to pick any up yourself!
