At Hambrooks, we have designed nine beautiful show gardens to help you find inspiration for your own. You will find a range of styles and plants that provide ideas to take-away, suitable for any site and for however you want to use your outside space. Each garden has year-round interest, with some seasonal highlights, and each showcases different hard-landscaping, furniture, lighting or shading options. Our covered walkway means you can view each garden in the dry (or the shade) all year round. But we encourage you to step into the gardens too, to get a sense of how they feel for you. The average garden in the UK is just 188 square metres*; that’s something like 11 by 17 metres (or 36 by 56 feet). Our show gardens are deliberately within this range, to ensure that what we’re showcasing is achievable, no matter how large or small your space at home. But they are no substitute for seeing them in the flesh so please do call in during Centre opening hours (hyperlink to) to visit the gardens, for free, for yourself.

IDL was devised in the mid 1980s by educators working with the Starcross Educational Research Association. In 2012 a programme was funded by the Big Lottery called Lifting Barriers. This allowed IDL to be developed for use within a school environment in conjunction with SENCO leaders. Over a three year period IDL was placed in to 120 primary and secondary schools across the North West. IDL was required to show an increase in reading and spelling ages along with an increase in confidence and self-esteem for those pupils with dyslexia or dyslexic type difficulties. The results showed an average increase in reading and spelling ages of 11 months after only 26 hours use. Since its development for use in schools, IDL has gone from strength to strength with schools nationwide and overseas using IDL and demonstrating real improvements for pupils with challenging literacy needs.

One of our key offerings is providing businesses space to grow, meaning we provide them with the right environment and support that they need to be successful. Hethel Innovation manage two of the most exciting business sites in East Anglia – Hethel Engineering Centre and Scottow Enterprise Park, which collectively are home to over 100 businesses. Over the years, we’ve provided businesses such as Equipmake, Ansible Motion, and Gravitilab with the support and incubation they needed to become some of the most exciting businesses we have in the East of England.
