At Witham Training Centre we specialise in the delivery and assessment of Health and Social Care, Residential Childcare and Leadership and Management Qualifications and Professional Development training courses relevant to the Health and Social Care and Residential Childcare, Early Years Childcare, learning disability care settings and settings that care for people with Autism and other complex care needs and behaviours that challenge. We offer a range of RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) qualifications that are relevant to the care industry from adult care and childcare through to non-industry specific leadership and management qualifications for individuals wanting to gain a qualification prior to embarking on or progressing through their career. Our Leadership and Management Qualifications are not just specific to the care industry. This Qualification is relevant to leadership and Management roles within all industries. We can deliver any of the qualifications and courses privately to the individual or in conjunction with companies looking to develop their workforce into a well qualified and knowledgeable team by supporting them and assessing them through their studies until their qualification is achieved. In addition to delivering and assessing qualifications we also deliver a range of accredited Professional Development courses and our own professional development courses that are both mandatory and specific to the needs of the care services in which we specialise. These courses are available at our training suite in Newark, Nottinghamshire and externally by prior arrangement. In addition to this we can deliver our non-industry specific courses, which include Fire Safety and Fire Safety and Fire Marshal Training, First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and Mental Health First aid to individuals and groups from any industry. Witham Training Centre Ltd was founded in 2021 following years of successful staff development within the care homes and childcare settings of the family group. The training facility has grown and expanded to be able to offer the same high quality training to other companies looking to increase or outsource their training needs and to enable individuals who are looking to enhance their CV by gaining the knowledge and qualifications to expand the job opportunities available to them. Pass Move Grin was founded with one coach and one player and has grown to run different centres with some excellent coaches joining our staff. PMG is an award winning company that works with over 150 players per week. We currently run three sessions a week, working with players from 4-18years old, some of which have previously travelled from Leicester, Derby, and Lincoln due to our values, reputation, and quality training. PMG’s philosophy focuses on building better people first and foremost as this is the foundation of success, in life or sport. We use football as a method to teach life skills, such as the value of persistence, building resilience, communication skills, leadership skills and having a positive attitude. Our sessions are run for players to ‘Learn, Enjoy, Improve’, a motto of PMG that all coaches buy into. We at PMG have created a challenging but caring environment, where players are pushed to be better, more respectful, work hard as individuals and collectives, and are given the support network to ensure they achieve their own potential. Our coaches, some of which are the highest qualified in Nottingham, buy into our philosophy of developing people first and foremost, are all DBS certified, first aid trained and up to date with safeguarding procedures. PMG understand that to be a good footballer you must be respectful, disciplined, hard working with a positive mentality, as well as technically proficient, tactically aware, and socially good. We work across all these areas in a holistic manner. We consider football to be a journey, where parents, players and coaches must work together. Players that show the right attitude and determination are offered trials at professional and semi-professional clubs, representing team PMG who travel to opposition academies to play games. From here players can be scouted which can be the start of their academy journey, as it has been for over 54 PMG players so far. Further to this what makes PMG stand out is the quality we deliver when coaching. PMGs training is based around game understanding and intelligence, which help speed up development by putting the players in game realistic situations. We ensure that all players feel included in the sessions and differentiate objectives to ensure appropriate learning for all.

Safeguarding is at the heart of our work in school; we recognise that students who do not feel safe and secure are not able to thrive and achieve. Our students feel safe in school, we are a very caring school and pride ourselves on having a strong and highly competent pastoral team. Each year group is led by a teacher in the post of Year Director, supported by a non-teaching Pastoral Assistant who are always on hand to support the students in our care. Whilst we are an academically successful and oversubscribed school, our primary purpose is to serve all of the young people in our care. Our aim is to ensure that every child in our charge fulfils and exceeds their potential, and we endeavour to do this irrespective of their ability or needs. The evidence suggests that we are very successful in this aim. We do place great emphasis on our standards agenda; we have high expectations of our students in terms of their approach to learning, their conduct and behaviour, their uniform and their involvement in the everyday life of the school.
