We are a cookery school for disabled adults 18 plus. At StedyChefs we teach all about the joy and fun to be had whilst cooking ,not only helping improve life skills but building self confidence and making friends along the way. Our whole building is covered in fun graffiti, our chefs wear a full uniform and different coloured bandanas making their time here as fun as possible. We also teach other activities such as art and music, the Beatles actually played in our building in 1961. Our chefs cook everything from scratch and not only this, they grow their own vegetables in our outside space as well as doing outside cooking in warmer months. Our chefs do food related trips also once every six weeks. Some of our chefs volunteer and in the past have worked in local cafes and football stadiums. Our youngest student is 18 and our eldest is 63 years old. The food our chefs create on a daily basis can only be described as phenomenal. We are also part of the International Cookery School Association (School Of Excellence) We also teach our students health and safety in the kitchen. We recently had Merseyside Fire Brigade in our centre to deliver a lesson on hazards that may occur in a kitchen and how to handle them safely. Merseyside Police have also attended our centre to deliver on a lesson on how to stay safe when using the internet. In January of this year, seven of our students gained their Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene In The Kitchen qualification. It took us over a year of visually and verbally training our students in preparation for their test. As they passed, they are now able to legally work in a professional kitchen environment. One of the students is now actively looking for paid work in the catering sector using his newly acquired qualification. We have also partnered with The Trussell Trust and are now running a food bank from or building with the help of our wonderful students.

I started out in theater where I learned classical singing techniques. Ventured into writing my own music at the age of 14 and started my 1st band by the age of 15. From then to now I've worked with Rock, Country, Progressive, Acoustic, Heavy Metal and Blues bands. As well as musicals and show tunes. After high school I worked with my local community centre on opening and running our town's 1st music club, focusing on mentoring young bands and musicians. In my college years, while studying songwriting and music production in school I kept pursuing my vocal ambitions and began my work with more modern singing techniques and schools of thought such as SSL and CVT. After learning so much about the different aspect of voice production, new and old, popular and extreme, I decided it's time I ventured into teaching. Today I am a BAST graduate and a certified vocal coach. My hope is to enrich and guide as many like minded singers with the knowledge and experience I've accumulated over the years in a fun and exciting way! Singing is not only singing. Dulwich Riding School is approved by the Association of British Riding Schools and has recently been awarded a five star Health and Safety approval from our local Council, Dulwich Riding School was founded in 1961 by Mr James Thomas Bellman, himself an expert horseman and instructor who spent a lifetime with horses and riders. The late Mr Bellman passed on his knowledge and riding school to his daughter Linda Gray who has sadly now passed away too, she has passed the Riding School onto Jaye Montebello, her daughter, the current Manager and Proprietor. Jaye was the Manageress (now proprietor) and is still hands on along with other family members who are still running the stables, also part of the Bellman family. Ellie is part of the family who currently rides and instructs at our London riding school. Lynne is our Health and Safety Manager (she shouts the loudest) and Amelyne and Ishka have been with us on and off for years, `University and Equine College being their breaks, we specialise in nervous and novice riders and are brilliant with building confidence. OJ also part of the Bellman family is currently a Junior Instructor, Ellie and Jaye our instructors specialising in working with Advanced riders and Jumping Lessons. Bonnie, Alice, Lydia, Melissa, Neveah and Natasha are Junior Instuctors and are especially good with children and parties, they are voluntary although been with us for years, however, a couple of them will be full staff from September, watch this space. NO one instructor can be booked for a lesson due to rotas and schedules although we will do out best to accommodate where possible. Our staff, volunteers, working pupils and family give their time helping Dulwich Riding School flourish and maintain the standards Mr J. T. Bellman set. Lots of our team are volunteers, they are a strong a valuable part of our team and without them we could not maintain the standards and level of professional care to all our Riders and Horses at Dulwich Riding School. WHAT DRIVES US Passion and determination to uphold Dulwich Riding School's reputation and high standards that Mr Bellman attained. Each instructor feels very proud when a client passes an exam, or completes a successful course or just generally leaves the stables feeling a sense of achievement or just having lots of fun. The ultimate drive is to be part of 17 wonderful horses and ponies' lives, building bonds and being priviledged to do a job that we enjoy. Meeting new people, talking with old friends and generally networking within our industry. HORSES Currently 17 at present working horses, mostly stabled although all horses have access to our onsite small turnout paddock, and access to full turnout in Kent, park rides, pony camps and further turnout located off site for rotation and requirement.

Hi, I’m Lucy Branton, owner and founder of Dogholics, and for as long as I can remember I have adored animals, in particular dogs and horses. I have spent my life in training and caring for them. My first dog as an adult was a Sher Pei, at the time the vet told me I had acquired one of the most difficult breeds to train. This didn’t put me off and within a few short months, me and my Shar-Pei Louie were performing in an obedience display team with the Hull Dog Training Club, achieving gold standards in training. My next Shar-Pei became adept at agility, obedience, and rally, even running alongside a horse! Having a natural affinity with dogs and training, I soon set up a local dog training club, as a hobby, it wasn’t long before this became a well-used enterprise. I had to face it I was addicted to dogs! I knew the only way I could get my fix for my addiction was to turn it into a profession and took up dog grooming. I quickly achieved City & Guilds introduction levels locally, then taking further training in London, proving to be natural I achieved distinctions and merits, passing the Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming. I still wasn’t satisfied and started teacher training, later becoming employed at the Hull College where I originally trained. All of this has led me to want to help others, who like me love their dogs. To help dog owners and their dogs realise their potential, creating a space where dogs and their owners can come together, learn and build amazing bonds with each other. There is no love more addictive than a dog’s love and as dog owner all we ever want to do is to give them back the same love they give us. Having run my own lorry for Hire & Reward including continental for a while I have been where you are going to be…. In the real world. I've run my own lorry based buisness for a number of years and moved into Driver Training in 1985 when two people who worked for me needed a C+E licence (HGV class 1) and just could not find a t...raining provider who offered the right training at a realistic price. I trained up both of them successfully and the rest as they say is history. In 1985 I attended the RTITB (The only recognised body to Road Transport) and also did the re registration courses as and when they were due. Since then the DSA have started their voluntary registration which I joined when launched. In January 2008 I re-sat & again passed the LGV Instructors course for the third time running including the new Theory Test and the Hazard Perception. So I know from personal experience what you will be expected to do. I'm one of only a handful of instructors in the area who are fully qualified. Not many people realise that, unlike Car instructors, HGV trainers do not have to be qualified to teach you. In over 20 years of training I have built up a firm customer base with many companies having been with me since 1985. There are two agencies who take newly qualified lorry drivers from me on a regular basis. I believe that during training it is important to be on the road as much as possible. I don’t have any Classrooms or spend time in Cafés or parked in Lay-By’s. All my training is in the Cab, the majority of the time with the wheels moving and you at the controls. After all that’s what you are paying for!

It all began in February 2003 when a group of artists and residents of north west Sheffield took part in the wond’rous watery walk – an event on the ponderosa. This was funded and planned through the garden rooms, an arts organisation that existed at the time, as part of bloom (a local festival in Netherthorpe, Upperthorpe and Langsett). Roanna Heller and Cassie Limb were inspired by Richard Long and Andy Goldsworthy, and wanted to create art in the park. They aimed for local residents in north west Sheffield to get involved, get inspired and engage creatively with naturally found objects. The Art in the Park project became bigger and more diverse than the garden rooms could support in terms of arts activity and in 2004 the project received it’s own Arts Council funding. Art in the Park as an organisation was born, running an event practically each month, which took the format of: a gazebo in a park, food, volunteers and nature inspired crafts. They were very low key, but showed there was a community need and interest in free, environmental art. Our limited company status was given in May 2006 and we became a registered charity in November 2006.

Please see the British canoeing site for up to date information about coronavirus, this can be accessed from the home page. Sunday morning, river Don, Oughtibridge 9.30-12.00pm. April to September only - Most Wednesday evenings (when we have coaches). River Don, Oughtibridge 6.30pm-8.00pm. Friday evening, 7:30 - 9:00pm, except Bank holiday weekends Hillsborough Leisure Centre (until 16th December, then resume on 6th January 2023). Monday evening, at the river, (by prior arrangement only) This is for groups, most often scouts. Thursday evening at the river, night slalom. Enquire for details. Club Trips Notice To avoid disappointment on the day - it is important you notify the trip organiser if you intend paddling. Every trip has an upper limit of paddlers to comply with safety guide lines. Please remember to notify the organiser or you may well be turned away on the day. Thank you. The club has been running since 1966, and so is 56 years old. It has an interesting history, which Phil is currently researching and compiling. This will feature on the website when it is complete.

Brought up with foraging and wild food in her blood, Iona took a deep dive on the subject in her mid-twenties, and never resurfaced. Iona has worked on surveys and recording projects, taught plant and fungi ID as well as foraging/outdoor food preparation and preservation skills for over a decade now, more recently including demonstrations in fungal microscopy, and her passion for nature extends far beyond foraging for food. However as a chef with experience in both professional kitchens and running her own events catering business, wild food is always where she comes home to, believing that food is a universal and easily accessible way for us to connect and engage with our environment and each other. Whatever your needs, from private courses, to public courses, corporate events, talks, interviews, educational events for both adults and children, and more, Iona is armed with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Equally importantly she has a keen understanding of the other myriad benefits of time spent gathering wild food in your environment, and is excited to open your eyes to all of the incredible beauty and bounty that our British countryside has to offer, through foraging in Sussex and further afield.
