<p id="isPasted" fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Learn to screen print using gold metal leaf with local artist and printmaker Lou Davis.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">In this advanced level screen printing workshop you will&nbsp;learn to coat, expose, print and clean silk screens. You&rsquo;ll have the opportunity to create a two-layer print with one colour layer, and one where we apply metal leaf to your design. Although no previous knowledge is assumed, you will get more from this workshop if you have attended one of our&nbsp;beginner or intermediate level screen printing workshops, or have&nbsp;previous experience of screen printing.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">You&rsquo;ll learn to create designs for screen printing;&nbsp;transfer your designs to a screen and print onto printmaking paper; and&nbsp;how to register your prints so they print in the same place every time. In this advanced level screen printing workshop you will learn to coat, expose, print and clean silk screens. In this relaxed and gently paced workshop, Jacky from Mossy Mosaic will show you how to safely cut old china using wheeled nippers and how to grout your mosaic to create a hanging decoration. Try your hand a transforming a reclaimed china tea cup, saucer or plate into a gorgeous mosaic with Jacky Cox from Mossy Mosaic, and join us for afternoon tea!
Mosaic making fits in perfectly with our vision of a world where recycling, repurposing and upcycling is the norm. In this relaxed and gently paced workshop, Jacky from Mossy Mosaic will show you how to safely cut old china using wheeled nippers and how to grout your mosaic to create a hanging decoration. No previous experience is needed – but those who have attended the introductory workshop and who are familiar with cutting techniques may have time to produce a second (un-grouted) piece.
During this 3 hour session you will also be treated to afternoon tea when we can sit and chat about mosaic making – or anything else you fancy!
You will be provided with all the materials needed, including a variety of bases such as hearts and flowers, to create your mosaic. If you would like to use a china cup or saucer you already have – perhaps an heirloom, or a special cup that is now broken - please bring it with you and we’ll see what we can do!

<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Suzanne will provide pre-made templates&nbsp;to speed up the design process, so that you can quickly&nbsp;move on to practice&nbsp;printing, and to learning the different techniques you can use to produce striking images.</p>

On this lino printing taster workshop with Edinburgh artist Suzanne Kemplay, you will explore quick ways of creating simple images of flowers or patterns.
Suzanne will provide pre-made templates to speed up the design process, so that you can quickly move on to practice printing, and to learning the different techniques you can use to produce striking images.
This is a hands-on, practical and fun workshop where you will learn the basic skills of lino cutting and printing, and gain the confidence you need to create beautiful prints at home without the need for expensive equipment. 
All the equipment and materials you will need are provided. You will take home all the prints you make, and your lino cut design so you can continue practising at home.

This is a one day, beginner-friendly organic glycerine soap making and cream blending workshop with a Christmas twist!
You will learn how to make two 100g soap bars, and blend 200g of Vitamin E-rich hand and body cream, using a specially selected tried-and-tested recipe featuring gorgeous festive-themed scents.
During the day, you will also learn about the properties of essential oils, and share tips and ideas for gift wrapping.
A selection of hot drinks - including mulled wine tea! - and mince pies will be served to get you in the mood. 
The day will end with a gift wrapping session around our festive craft table, with a selection of items to choose from.

The Arienas Collective workshops, courses and events are run from a supportive and welcoming home-based environment within a Georgian mews home in Edinburgh’s City Centre New Town. We invite you to join us, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in being creative.
Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
All the equipment and materials you will need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise, plus light refreshments (a selection of Shibui teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and sweet or savoury snacks). On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out; or there are a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus supermarkets, within a 5-10 minute walk.
PLEASE NOTE: Our workshop space is on the first-floor of a Georgian mews building and unfortunately we do not have lift access. The workshop space is in our home which is not nut free. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies before booking.
