The Actors Café invites you to our Taster Class, the perfect introduction to our dynamic and comprehensive training programs. Whether you’re new to the craft or looking to refine your skills, this session offers a unique opportunity to explore what we have to offer before committing to regular classes.

Attending a Maker Space session will give you an informal and enjoyable introduction to Computer Aided Design and Digital Manufacturing. We use only open source design software, that you can download and use at home for free. We have 3D Printers, a CNC Router, a Laser-cutter, a digital embroidery machine, and a 3D scanner, and all of them are available for you to use. Harness the energy is an explorative workshop introducing the notion of utilising and intuitively listening to the energy shared between a group of people. Whether we realise it or not, we all give off certain energies at any time. These energies can affect change, sometimes positively, sometimes negatively. This workshop enhances understanding of the power of our own energy transmissions through the use of complicité-based theatre techniques and exercises. This workshop will help participants become active and aware listeners, able to work better collaboratively to produce strong results. It will demonstrate the power of our own individual energy and the positive impact we can have when we learn to utilise the energy beneficially in different situations.

Known for his striking hyperrealistic style, Maduka has captivated collectors and visitors alike in both Nigerian and the United States in group exhibitions, including previous shows at our gallery. In this latest body of work, Maduka explores his personal journey, reflecting on the pivotal experiences that have shaped him over time. In each piece, he assigns a crown or halo to his subjects, elevating them as Queens and Kings, symbolizing his belief that everyone possesses an inherent uniqueness and strength. Through these works, he emphasizes that each individual has the power to shape their destiny, confronting life’s challenges and striving relentlessly to carve out their own future.

Our purpose is to ensure that people of all ages, especially young people aged 12-35, are able to acquire the social and emotional benefits of creative music-making and multimedia activities. We work especially with those suffering from loneliness and isolation; communities disproportionately affected by the health crisis; and schoolchildren who are suffering from social isolation that sadly prevents them from achieving their potential.
