The New Normal in Project Management: It's All About the Benefits

By IIL Europe Ltd

The New Normal in Project Management: It's All About the Benefits For many organizations traditional project management is dead. Measuring project success based solely on the triple constraints ignores what's most important about a project: the benefits and value the project should deliver. In this new normal, where organizations rely on project managers to deliver value, not just deliverables, we need better planning, knowledge of change management practices, and most importantly, ways to collaborate with our business partners to make sure we get the job done correctly. LeRoy will provide his insight into the best ways organizations and project managers can, and should, work together to make it all happen. This and other IIL Learning in Minutes presentations qualify for PDUs. Some titles, such as Agile-related topics may qualify for other continuing education credits such as SEUs, or CEUs. Each professional development activity yields one PDU for one hour spent engaged in the activity. Some limitations apply and can be found in the Ways to Earn PDUs section that discusses PDU activities and associated policies. Fractions of PDUs may also be reported. The smallest increment of a PDU that can be reported is 0.25. This means that if you spent 15 minutes participating in a qualifying PDU activity, you may report 0.25 PDU. If you spend 30 minutes in a qualifying PDU activity, you may report 0.50 PDU.

An Uncommon Blend: BRM, Lean & Project Management

By IIL Europe Ltd

An Uncommon Blend: BRM, Lean & Project Management There are many process frameworks and methodologies that can help generate value. The challenge is not about selecting the 'right one' but with establishing logical points of integration between complementary bodies of knowledge that can lead to the value creation. From guiding corporate transformation initiatives to the identification/ resolution of challenging problems which effect day-to-day business operations, this uncommon blend can produce impressive results.Learning Objectives In this session, a brief overview of BRM and Lean best-practices will be provided. Create clarity around the greater vision and mission of transformation generating programs Increase relationship maturity between Business Partner & IT Provider that prevented the production of 'waste' Identification of unrecorded work activity that was acknowledged by the means of updated job descriptions or was retired due to unnecessary, non-value-added status Application of BRM techniques that resulted in the creation of performance measurements that matter and continuity between business processes and their enabling IT capabilities

Description Project Management Diploma Project management is the effective application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to accomplish project objectives. A project is a unique and temporary undertaking to attain a singular goal. Projects have existed even in ancient times. Modern-day projects range from the construction of a building to the development of an application. However, the first project to adopt modern-day project management techniques is the Polaris weapons system in the early 1950s. The need for project management arouse when human undertakings became more significant, complex and risky. Human endeavours are expected to be delivered on time and within the budget and involved a lot of resources including finance and human resources. Project management ensures that such endeavours are methodically planned from beginning to end to ensure success with minimum use of resources. Project Management Diploma attempts to cover all the vital aspects of project management including the critical tools and techniques to support various stages of the project planning, scheduling, budgeting, organizing and controlling. Shared Knowledge is Power - Building a Project Management Community

By IIL Europe Ltd

Shared Knowledge is Power - Building a Project Management Community As project managers, we do not deliver. We do not cut code or build bridges. We work with teams and stakeholders to ensure that delivery is done. The job of the project manager is about working with people, breaking down barriers, reducing risk, and managing change. To do this well, it's not about 'know what,' it's about 'know how.' Better access to knowledge-and the support to use it wisely-means faster, cheaper, and higher quality projects. At Fujitsu, our vision is about providing the ability for project managers to share knowledge and experience by interacting with other members of the community, in agile and dynamic client-facing environment. Equally as important is taking that knowledge back into the organisation. This supports the individual in developing their professional career, and supports the organization in improving its project delivery. Understanding your customers' changing organisation is difficult enough. Combined with your own ever-changing organisation and the faster pace of agile project delivery, we need to leverage more than just our own knowledge and experience. A strong project management community driven by knowledge sharing may be the answer you need. The size of your organisation is irrelevant - everyone can benefit from a knowledge based community. It is how you shape the community to meet your needs that will deliver the benefits.Learning Objectives Better access to knowledge-and the support to use it wisely-means faster, cheaper, and higher quality projects.
