With hands-on help from Lucy, you will learn the basic principles and techniques of macram&eacute;, and will build your confidence making small keyring designs. Using 100% cotton rope and a selection of coloured twines, you will then create your hand-crafted hanger.&nbsp;
You can also bring along items you&#39;d like to incorporate into your design, such as beads, jewellery and found objects such as twigs to make it truly personal.Lucy will provide you with a&nbsp;helpful instruction manual to guide you through your project, which you can take home to remind you of the knots you learned.&nbsp;

On this private silver clay jewellery taster class, you can create a pendant, charms and/or a pair of earrings from hallmark-quality silver with metal clay specialist, Anna Campbell of Jewellery School Scotland. &nbsp; You will learn how to make jewellery out of a material called silver clay, which is made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water. Silver clay requires with very little equipment so it&#39;s perfect for those wanting to learn a new skill they can easily do at home. &nbsp; You will be taken through all the steps to create your own piece ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver (but a cr&egrave;me brul&eacute; torch will do the trick!). You&rsquo;ll then polish your silver jewellery ready to take home.For wedding and birthday party groups, a popular option is to create a charm for the birthday person, or bride/groom-to-be, and we include a complimentary bracelet (see image). Discover the magic of mosaic making&nbsp;with Jacky Cox of Mossy MosaicMosaicing fits in perfectly with our vision of a world where recycling, repurposing and upcycling is the norm. Jacky works with a variety of materials including glass, recycled crockery and natural materials like slate and sea glass, and finds the whole creative process from sourcing to creating absorbing, relaxing and mesmerising.&nbsp;On this 3 hour session, Jacky will help you create two mosaic items using methods you can do at home. You will begin by designing creating a grouted drinks coaster, and while this is drying, you will design a beautiful hanging heart using vitreous (&#39;swimming pool&#39;) tiles. Discover the magic of mosaic making with Jacky Cox of Mossy Mosaic
Mosaicing fits in perfectly with our vision of a world where recycling, repurposing and upcycling is the norm. Jacky works with a variety of materials including glass, recycled crockery and natural materials like slate and sea glass, and finds the whole creative process from sourcing to creating absorbing, relaxing and mesmerising. 
On this 3 hour session, Jacky will help you create two mosaic items using methods you can do at home. You will begin by designing creating a grouted drinks coaster, and while this is drying, you will design a beautiful hanging heart using vitreous ('swimming pool') tiles. 
Alternatively, you can create a beautiful coaster or heart using a selection of vintage tea cups - you may have some you wish to bring which are chipped or broken, or hold a special memory.
You will learn about mosaic equipment, including tile cutting techniques for vitreous tiles using a wheel cutter; grouting; and how to stay safe while mosaicing. 
You will take home two mosaic pieces, and have learned all you need to know to start your mosaicing journey.
The price includes refreshments, such as a selection of speciality teas and complimentary glass of fizz served up with cake or savoury snack.

The Arienas Collective private classes are run from our supportive and welcoming home-based environment within a Georgian mews home in Edinburgh’s City Centre New Town. We invite you to join us, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in being creative.
Access to all the equipment you will use is included in the price. 
Private classes can be themed to suit the occasion, such as a special birthday, hen do, or family celebration. Just let us know when booking and we can discuss the options.
On full day classes you are welcome to bring your own lunch. Alternatively, there is a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, supermarkets and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. We can also provide a buffet style lunch if you prefer, just let us know your dietary requirements and budget, and we'll source some options.
PLEASE NOTE: Our workshop space is on the first-floor of a Georgian mews building and unfortunately we do not have lift access. The workshop space is in our home which is not nut free. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies before booking.

Who is this Level 3 NVQ aimed at?
The experienced worker qualification is for practising electricians with at least 5 years experience but have never formally completed an industry apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 NVQ Qualification. What’s involved in the qualification?
