Actors, improve your skills as a performer by joining us this March for London's best FREE acting evening and become part of the Speak The Speech family. Have a great time in the warmest and most welcoming space to try things out: Refresh an audition monologue from your repertoire Try something new with a speech Read a monologue for the first time Perhaps you just want to see how others approach a text. Or maybe you have a casting coming up… Participants may present a piece to the group, we then help to enhance the piece using the collective experience in the room, led by actor and acting coach Warren Rusher. We usually get through 6 or 7 pieces per month. Help each other to grow… you might have the perfect exercise or insight to help unlock a deeper understanding of character and text. There is no pressure to perform, you can just soak up the atmosphere and be part of the experience. Open to performers of all experience levels. *Bring a copy of any monologue you wish to present/work on. **If you are unable to attend please release your space - numbers are limited. Come together, connect, learn more about knitting and the social purpose of our project. Both beginners and experienced knitters welcomed! The Knit Club is a workshop by Craft Forward structured like a relaxed and welcoming knitting and crochet group, open to beginners and experienced makers to come together, connect, and assemble our blankets for the “Blankets for London” project. “Blankets for London” is Craft Forward’s seasonal project where we assemble blankets to donate to homeless individuals in London through our partner charities. The Knit Club is open to anyone interested in approaching crafting and textile art for the first time and to any creative who would like an opportunity to make together and connect with other makers. What to bring: all materials are provided! I want to participate in "Blankets for London": our mailbox is now CLOSED for Blankets for London 2023. Thank you so much for having participating! We will start collecting new squares and blankets in 2024. Pictures will be taken during this session: please let us know if you'd rather not be photographed, we want to make sure everyone is comfortable. Speak The Speech is a regular monologue workshop that has been running at Theatre Deli since September 2017, created by Warren as a response to London's lack of affordable acting training. A typical session consists of performers presenting a monologue which is then workshopped to improve the performers' approach to content and character. The aim is not to produce the perfect monologue but to use the monologue format to enhance each performer’s skill set and develop their acting process. We generally manage to work on 5-8 pieces per session. To give you a good understanding of the long medical journeys a trans person undergoes, together with an understanding of the reference terms in common use, including language and terminology, cis-gender, non-binary, intersex, the pathways from M to F and F to M with the key stages in each pathway, the lived experiences of the facilitators plus a short life story video, LGBT facts, gender clinics, how to support a trans child, equality in the workplace, the laws surrounding gender and equality and how they affect you, and so much more…… Who is this course for? Everyone is the simple answer. Everyone and particularly those in a public-facing role, be that the police or other emergency services, to business managers, ship captains and shop floor workers. What will it cost? Both face to face and Teams presentations are charged at the same rates, which are very competitive. Face to face would incur travel and accommodation etc, as applicable How large are the groups? We will only normally accept a maximum of 20 people in each presentation, as this allows everyone the opportunity for questions, and allows us to keep to the 4 hour duration. We can, however, work with larger groups by negotiation, typically up to a total of 50 people. How will I benefit from this course? You will learn about the full pathways to allow you to be more understanding, and you will understand how to address a trans person without causing offence Do we get handouts? All participants receive a comprehensive workbook either in person or electronically. What is the course content? Language & terminology, intersex, non-binary, use of pronouns, pathways from male to female & female to male, key stages in each pathway, supporting trans children, facts and figures, personal life stories of the facilitators together with a video presentation, equality in the workplace, important legislation and how it affects you and more How are the courses delivered? This presentation is delivered as a face to face session for businesses and organisations around the UK. Alternatively it can be delivered using Teams. There is a lot of hatred towards the trans community, will I get harangued? Yes, there is hatred but by educating people on this subject we aim to achieve a more inclusive society, not just in the UK, but around the world also. I want to book a complete session for my staff, is there a group discount available? Yes, for any large group booking we are negotiable. Is this course recognised?
