The important stuff These courses are all bespoke in nature so pricing will vary but we start at £350 for a three-hour course. The landscape is rugged but beautiful with high mountains, flowing rivers and large lakes. Based around Capel Curig in the National Park we will visit some hidden treasures, lakes, mountains, quarries and iconic vistas.A Snowdonia photography workshop and photo walk in Cwm Idwal amidst the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain ranges, the glacial lakes of Llyn Idwal and Llyn Ogwen and the impressive Ogwen Falls. A workshop for beginners or anyone looking to further develop their landscape photography.Course content includes camera controls, use of filters, gear choice, advice on composition. The workshop involves walking to different viewpoints within Cwm Idwal on rocky, uneven paths and an ascent of 300ft to a viewpoint above the lake so a good level of fitness and mobility is required. Due to the terrain unfortunately the workshop is unsuitable for those with limited mobility.What do you need to bring with you?Camera/lenses/Spare memory card/batteries/tripod - A digital camera with "semi-automatic/manual" controls (Aperture and Shutter priority) is recommended to get the most from the course. Filters (if you have them) A packed lunch/snacks The relevant user manual for your camera Warm/waterproof clothing and suitable footwear - weather can be unpredictable all year round in Snowdonia. Basically, how do you manage without a studio and all its controllability, and end up satisfied with an expressive and successful portrait?It is essential to take the environment into consideration when composing a portrait. Managing the background's colours and graphics, choosing the point of view, directing the model - these are all points that will be covered during the course.Light control is an equally important aspect; in particular, analysing a given moment's light and using it wisely are elements that will be explained to help you make a successful portrait.This workshop will teach you:- How to observe the environment so as to guide your aesthetic choices: point of view, directing a model- How to "read" light and place your subject accordingly- How to correctly define parameters in your camera according to your desired result- How to frame and compose an image to highlight the subjectThe workshop includes a theoretical explanation, a main "practical" part, as well as a class debriefing at the end. An intensive two-year course with a School located in the heart of London, the MA Filmmaking trains to a professional level in a full range of filmmaking skills. Students leave with a portfolio of directing, cinematography, editing, producing, production design and sound credits. The school produces a huge output of films each year on this particular programme, many of which are screened at key festivals annually, previously winning many prizes, including at Locarno, Berlinale, Edinburgh, LaCinef (Cinéfondation). Learning is based on short film production and our students make a new film each term. Each term these film exercises become more technically sophisticated, more considered and more complex in their ambitions. The school specifies the skill base for each exercise, providing the equipment and training students to new levels in each of the various craft skills. Students make all aesthetic decisions while solving problems similar to those faced by professional units, on a steeply increasing slope of difficulty. The work is constantly assessed and critiqued.  This is the core of the London Film School method. Students learn by applying themselves to aesthetic and practical problems generated by the actual process of filmmaking.
