Your Facilitator, Julie Robinson.
A corporate leader veteran turned facilitator and coach, Julie brings over 25 years of corporate experience to her leadership development, team development and coaching.




Having worked at Director level at an airline, financial services company, online gaming business and as a non-executive at a logistics organisation, Julie has extensive experience in directing global teams in the development of world-class products and services, leading change, and turning strategy into operational results.
Consequently, she understands the thorny challenges of leadership and developing high-performing teams. Also having made a number of leadership transitions, she has experience of the skills and values required when transitioning through leadership levels.
Julie was keen to share her learnings with other leaders and thirteen years ago moved into her coaching and development role. Since then, she has facilitated learning interventions for different size groups of leaders at different levels in a wide variety of business segments.

Chief Executive - Inverclyde Council






Louise Long is the new Chief Executive of Inverclyde Council starting on 20th September 2021. Prior to this, Louise was the Chief Officer and Corporate Director for Inverclyde Health & Social Care Partnership. Inverclyde is a fully integrated partnership and includes all aspects of social care and including Adults, Children’s and Justice Services.




 
Louise graduated in 1996 as a Social Worker and later gained a postgraduate qualification in Child Protection and Leadership. Over the last 20 years, she has been a senior manager in a variety of Council settings. 
 
Since 2002 she has managed Integrated Services as Manager of Addictions then obtained the post of Head of Children’s Services in South Ayrshire and Head of Children’s Services in Argyll. In 2016 Louise joined Inverclyde as Corporate Director. She was the Chair of the Programme Board responsible for building Greenock Health Centre on behalf of the Health Board.
 
Louise is committed to addressing inequalities and committed to improving the lives of the people in Inverclyde.







Joanna Killian
 
Chief Executive - Surrey County Council

Joanna was appointed Chief Executive of Surrey County Council in 2018. She has worked in partnership with the Council Leader, Tim Oliver, to modernise the council, building strong financial foundations and improving service quality for residents. Her focus on partnerships has enabled the council to contribute to a thriving Integrated Care System in Surrey, as well as building the to strengthen the economy, address the impact of climate change and tackle inequalities.

In June 2021, as part of the Government’s intervention of Liverpool City Council, Joanna was appointed by the Secretary of State as Local Government Improvement commissioner. Joanna currently holds this role alongside her SCC Chief Executive role. 

Prior to joining SCC, Joanna worked at KPMG, where she led relationships with local and regional government, advising clients on how they could transform their organisations, and work more innovatively with their customers and citizens. Joanna and her teams worked on innovative devolution and public service reform programmes. Joanna worked with top teams to rethink their strategic ambition and agree new approaches to address the challenges and opportunities that the public sector faces, including with a county council, as well as a group of health organisations. 

Joanna has more than 30 years’ experience in the public sector and has deep experience in delivering transformational change, cost reduction and service improvement. She has expertise in achieving improved outcomes through partnerships as well as across public sector systems. She has worked on leadership, governance and corporate reform programmes and is skilled in working in complex political systems. 

Joanna joined KPMG in 2015 from Essex County Council, where she was the Chief Executive for nearly 9 years.  

Joanna started her career in social housing and regeneration - she has deep knowledge and expertise in these fields. 
 
In her spare time, she is Chair of Trustees at St Mungo’s, a large national charity with a mission to support people who experience street homelessness and eliminate rough sleeping.











Sharon Kemp

Chief Executive - Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council





Sharon Kemp is Chief Executive of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and was appointed by Government Commissioners and the Council in 2016 to lead improvements which have seen powers return and a ‘Good’ Ofsted rated Children and Young People’s Services in both 2018 and 2022.
Dedicated to serving people and places, Sharon has worked within the public sector for over 20 years across community safety, neighbourhood management, community cohesion, performance, and partnerships. Sharon also has an Honours Degree in Public Administration.
Sharon started her career within the Greater Manchester Police Force and moved into Local Government with the advent of the Crime and Disorder Act. Since then, Sharon has worked in a number of local authorities including 6 years in Blackburn and Darwen in the Regeneration Department and two years at the London Borough of Haringey as Assistant Chief Executive. Prior to arriving in Rotherham, Sharon was the Assistant Chief Executive for People and then Strategic Director (Reform) at Manchester City Council. 
Since Sharon became Chief Executive of RMBC in 2016, Rotherham has made huge progress and remains committed to a journey of continuous improvement. This progress was recognised last year when Rotherham was awarded the Most Improved Council Award at the LGC Awards 2022. The judges unanimously agreed that ‘from a rock bottom position it is possible to rebuild the trust of the community through understanding, courage, and openness’. Rotherham Council continues to further improve as an organisation, having recently won the Public Sector Leadership Award at the Social Value Awards 2023 and the Public/Public Partnership Award at the LGC Awards 2023.




Karen Jones
Chief Executive - Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council
Karen Jones is the Chief Executive at Neath Port Talbot Council having spent the majority of her career in public service in Wales. Passionate about creating a great environment where people want to live, work and invest, Karen believes that people make the difference and is a strong advocate of collaborative working. While being the Chief Executive is her focus by day, Karen also enjoys the beautiful natural environment of Neath Port Talbot in her spare time, often to be found on hiking and cycling trails.
I joined Neath Port Talbot Council in 2002 and having held a number of different chief officer portfolios, I became the Chief Executive on 1st January 2021. I am passionate about creating an environment where people are proud to live and work and want to invest in our area. I believe that people make the difference and I am a strong advocate of collaborative working.
Prior to joining the Council, I was the Business Manager at Estyn and the Head of Corporate Strategy at South Wales Police. During my time at the Council, I have helped Social Services secure the best Joint Review outcome in Wales. I then led the Council’s corporate transformation programme, recognised by Academi Wales and APSE for the way in which we embraced systems thinking, to deliver better service performance at lower cost. In my last role, I led the Council’s work to embrace digital innovation, positioning us as an early adopter of the emerging Digital, Data and Technology model within Wales.
I am a graduate of the University of Wales, where I was awarded two masters degrees in Business Management and Human Resources Management and hold membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

❓&nbsp;WHAT IS THE &#39;IMPROVE YOUR RIDING IN EIGHT WEEKS&#39; COURSE: My original two-day &#39;Survival: SKILLS&#39; course focuses on all aspects of riding. It was introduced in 1997 when I launched my advanced rider training school in response to an increasing demand from recreational riders wanting to improve their riding. For many years it&#39;s been one of my most popular courses.Offering a mix of theory and practical exercises, it&#39;s designed to equip you with a toolkit of essential cornering skills backed by a framework of knowledge ready for riding twisty roads.With a focus on identifying hazards and managing the risks of riding, rather than simply developing the technical skills to &#39;make progress&#39;, it has been a huge hit with riders from all levels from newly-qualified to highly-experienced, including many with advanced training from other sources. I&#39;ve even had police riders on the course.&nbsp;Like all my other Survival Skills training, the course has been carefully researched and developed to offer a unique blend of ideas and concepts. I&#39;ve taken traditional defensive riding principles, added the very best of thinking from overseas training and coaching programmes, brought in new ideas from sports psychology and research into rider training, and blended that all with my own extensive riding experience.&nbsp;Just a few of the sources I have worked into my training include (but not limited to) &#39;Motorcycle Roadcraft - the police rider&#39;s manual&#39;, Keith Code&#39;s &#39;Twist of the Wrist&#39; books, the work of US experts Pat Hahn and David Hough, and the Australian safety programme &#39;Ride On&#39;. THIS EIGHT WEEK ONLINE COURSE IS BASED ON MY TWO-DAY &#39;SURVIVAL: SKILLS&#39; COURSE ❓&nbsp;WHAT&#39;S DIFFERENT ABOUT SURVIVAL SKILLS: When I introduced my Survival Skills course back in 1997, almost all &#39;advanced &#39; training (and there wasn&#39;t much available) was based on the concepts to be found in the police manual &#39;Motorcycle Roadcraft&#39;. The version of that book available then, aside from colour pictures, had barely changed since the &#39;Blue Book&#39; version of Roadcraft of the 1960s first opened up the concepts behind police rider training to the public.&nbsp;Instead of simply &#39;doing what everyone else does&#39; I went back to first principles to identify just what skills and knowledge were required to ride well on modern roads. I also looked beyond the UK to look at the best ideas from around the world, and to see how motorcycle training is conducted in different countries. That helped me identify the strengths and weakness of Roadcraft. In particular, Roadcraft - just like the DVSA&#39;s basic training - had little to say about cornering, so I looked towards US rider coach Keith Code to help develop my own approach to riding twisty roads, developing a system that remains unique to Survival Skills.&nbsp;I&#39;ve also looked to see how coaching is applied outside rider safety. I&#39;ve investigated sports psychology and introduced well-proven techniques such as &#39;reflective thinking&#39; and &#39;visualisation / imagery&#39; to motorcyclists.&nbsp;And the courses haven&#39;t stayed still either. Over the years, they have been constantly updated to match new issues (our potholed roads, for example) and new technology (ABS, riding modes, traction control etc). You can be sure that the Survival Skills approach offers an excellent fit for the real-world problems modern riders face on two wheels in the 21st century.&nbsp; ❓ DOES E-LEARNING WORK: Absolutely YES! E-learning is an accepted way of delivering skills in many fields, and has been for quite a few years. Because motorcycling is seen as a hands-on skill, it&#39;s easy to under-estimate just how much of what we learn about riding is theoretical, and fairly obviously any theory content CAN be delivered remotely - I&#39;m sure you&#39;d agree you can read a book or watch a video, and learn from it. What may not be so obvious is that we CAN learn practical skills too so each section of the course has some simple-to-try practical exercises which allow you to go out and directly try out the theory, just like my paperback DIY guide to better riding &#39;Survival SKILL&#39;. And that&#39;s had a lot of positive feedback. &nbsp; ❓ WILL I LEARN ANYTHING NEW:&nbsp;I have no doubt you will. Wherever you sit on the ladder of personal development - including those of you with existing post-test training experience - this course will add to what you already know about riding motorcycles. You&#39;ll see new ways of thinking about riding, new ways of identifying the threats, new ways of dealing with them. And each week there will be an introduction to a new concept you probably haven&#39;t heard of previously. ❓ WHAT IS THE 'IMPROVE YOUR RIDING IN EIGHT WEEKS' COURSE: My original two-day 'Survival: SKILLS' course focuses on all aspects of riding. It was introduced in 1997 when I launched my advanced rider training school in response to an increasing demand from recreational riders wanting to improve their riding. For many years it's been one of my most popular courses.
Offering a mix of theory and practical exercises, it's designed to equip you with a toolkit of essential cornering skills backed by a framework of knowledge ready for riding twisty roads.
With a focus on identifying hazards and managing the risks of riding, rather than simply developing the technical skills to 'make progress', it has been a huge hit with riders from all levels from newly-qualified to highly-experienced, including many with advanced training from other sources. I've even had police riders on the course. 
Like all my other Survival Skills training, the course has been carefully researched and developed to offer a unique blend of ideas and concepts. I've taken traditional defensive riding principles, added the very best of thinking from overseas training and coaching programmes, brought in new ideas from sports psychology and research into rider training, and blended that all with my own extensive riding experience. 
Just a few of the sources I have worked into my training include (but not limited to) 'Motorcycle Roadcraft - the police rider's manual', Keith Code's 'Twist of the Wrist' books, the work of US experts Pat Hahn and David Hough, and the Australian safety programme 'Ride On'.

❓ WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT SURVIVAL SKILLS: When I introduced my Survival Skills course back in 1997, almost all 'advanced ' training (and there wasn't much available) was based on the concepts to be found in the police manual 'Motorcycle Roadcraft'. The version of that book available then, aside from colour pictures, had barely changed since the 'Blue Book' version of Roadcraft of the 1960s first opened up the concepts behind police rider training to the public. 
Instead of simply 'doing what everyone else does' I went back to first principles to identify just what skills and knowledge were required to ride well on modern roads. I also looked beyond the UK to look at the best ideas from around the world, and to see how motorcycle training is conducted in different countries. That helped me identify the strengths and weakness of Roadcraft. In particular, Roadcraft - just like the DVSA's basic training - had little to say about cornering, so I looked towards US rider coach Keith Code to help develop my own approach to riding twisty roads, developing a system that remains unique to Survival Skills. 
I've also looked to see how coaching is applied outside rider safety. I've investigated sports psychology and introduced well-proven techniques such as 'reflective thinking' and 'visualisation / imagery' to motorcyclists. 
And the courses haven't stayed still either. Over the years, they have been constantly updated to match new issues (our potholed roads, for example) and new technology (ABS, riding modes, traction control etc). You can be sure that the Survival Skills approach offers an excellent fit for the real-world problems modern riders face on two wheels in the 21st century. 


❓ DOES E-LEARNING WORK: Absolutely YES! E-learning is an accepted way of delivering skills in many fields, and has been for quite a few years. Because motorcycling is seen as a hands-on skill, it's easy to under-estimate just how much of what we learn about riding is theoretical, and fairly obviously any theory content CAN be delivered remotely - I'm sure you'd agree you can read a book or watch a video, and learn from it. What may not be so obvious is that we CAN learn practical skills too so each section of the course has some simple-to-try practical exercises which allow you to go out and directly try out the theory, just like my paperback DIY guide to better riding 'Survival SKILL'. And that's had a lot of positive feedback. 


❓ WILL I LEARN ANYTHING NEW: I have no doubt you will. Wherever you sit on the ladder of personal development - including those of you with existing post-test training experience - this course will add to what you already know about riding motorcycles. You'll see new ways of thinking about riding, new ways of identifying the threats, new ways of dealing with them. And each week there will be an introduction to a new concept you probably haven't heard of previously. When it comes to developing riding skills and offering new approaches to rider training, expect to have an experience that's unique to Survival Skills. 


❓ SURVIVAL SKILLS AND INSIGHT TRAINING: In particular, Survival Skills courses have evolved to adopt the ultra-modern educational and coaching concept known as 'insight training'. This approach goes beyond encyclopaedic knowledge and mastery of technical skills. Insight seeks to deliver an understanding of the complex workings of the roads as a 'system'; that is, a set of interconnected and interdependent components that work together to achieve a common goal. My coaching involves helping discover a deeper understanding of 'cause and effect', how we can use that awareness for more effective problem-solving, and how that benefits us by increasing not just our safety but also our riding enjoyment. 





Insight is, in effect, the 'glue' that pulls together our technical abilities and our knowledge with the essential awareness that we do not use the roads in isolation and we cannot rely on others to do precisely as we'd want them to. Instalment Payment: Enrolment for the Women's Voice Medicine Journey

This course contains both self-study and live training in online classes and covers the META-Health Level 1 and 2 material. It will take 6 months including 24 live sessions, 2 hours each, mainly in a weekly rhythm. You will get preparatory videos, reading material and tasks that help to understand and integrate the content, while the group sessions focus on demonstrations, discusion of the material, and practical exercises for you. All the time, our trainers and tutors will support you and we’ll be a learning family with an active chatgroup. Altogether you should reckon approximately 5 hours per week.
To cover most time zones, the schedule will be tuesdays at 17:00 GMT (London), starting on 7 January 2025.

You’ll learn META-Health from scratch. Those who have absolved a MHI Level 1 training within the last year get a discount of 20% of the training fee.
This training prepares you for the certification process to become licensed as META-Health professional.
Certification is optional. Even if you aren’t a health professional, you may enter the training to deepen your knowledge, understanding and resources for becoming and staying healthy – however be aware that basic knowledge of biology and anatomy will be very helpful!

A Spring online offering to support any woman who is on the journey to discover her authentic voice.


Come and join us in this nourishing online container as we delve into the power of the feminine voice together! 🌿


Sessions will begin on April 12th and run over 8 weeks 


Classes will run for 1.5-2 hours on Saturday mornings. The timings will be 10am-12pm (GMT) / 2.30-4pm (IST). 


The intention is to support and develop your vocal expression journey, within a feminine container, and explore various vocal wellness practises over 8 weeks to nurture creativity, confidence and clarity in your voice.


Together we will explore, breath, movement and play to get you vocalising in your space, having fun and feeling comfortable sounding your authentic voice at home!


These will be the class topics:


🌿Week 1: Vocal play, inner child exploration for confidence and creativity (April 12th)
🌿Week 2: Emotion release and letting go with sound (April 19th)
🌿Week 3: Intuitive toning and sounding (April 26th)
