Date: Monday 30th October Time: 4pm Location: Studio A Director Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk, Finding Forrester) creates a tender, meditative portrait of young gay men living off-grid in the early 1990s in My Own Private Idaho. Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix play best friends Scott and Mike, who turn tricks and hustle through difficulties living on the streets. Their bond and love is tested when ghosts from the past arise and they're forced onto the road to find answers. One of the most important films in LGBTQ+ cinema, My Own Private Idaho broke down barriers and flew in the face of taboo at the time of its release. Time: 4pm Date: 17th January Location: Studio A We're kicking off 2024 with a season of films by Greta Gerwig! First up, her heartfelt and nostalgia-laced debut, 2017's Lady Bird. Saoirse Ronan (in one of her best ever roles) stars as Christine 'Lady Bird' McPherson, an out-spoken teenager looking to establish her own identity away from Sacramento, where she's spent her whole life. At the same time she faces complex relationships with her mother, first love, best friend and home identity. We look forward to welcoming you all back to the CFS Film Club this year!

DATE: Tuesday 28th May TIME: 4pm LOCATION: Studio A Jordan Gifford is an up and coming writer, director and producer who will be coming in to give advice on looking for Freelance Film work. He will discuss his own burgeoning career, how he went from a runner to working in film locations, to being given the opportunity to produce his first feature film, all whilst also finding his own voice as a writer/director of dramatic short films. You will get the chance to ask him questions directly as well, and hear advice from someone who not too long ago was in your shoes exactly. Be sure to book in advance if you want to come along.

DATE: Tuesday 14th May TIME: 4:00pm LOCATION: Studio A On Tuesday 14th May we'll be hosting an International Students Event in Studio A, an opportunity for our international students to come together, get to know one another and share short films from their home countries and states, followed by some casual drinks and finger food.If you are planning on attending, please fill in this form where you can submit the film you wish to present. All films should be accessible for free online using platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo.

Date: Thursday 15th June Time: 4pm Location: Studio A - Landor Road Event Details: Tim Haines is a television producer and director, having worked on several highly-respected documentary and drama productions over a storied career. Tim will speak about the following topics as well as others at the event: Approaches to Documentary How a Documentary Gets Made The Purpose of a Documentary Modern Combinations of CGI & Live Action Throughout students will have the chance to ask questions about the topics being discussed, before wrapping up with a wider Q+A session at the end. A multiple Emmy and BAFTA winner, Tim has worked on many well known series, including: - Walking with Dinosaurs - Director & Producer - Primeval - Producer - The Loch - Producer - Surviving Earth (currently in production) - Producer This is a free event that all students are welcome to attend. Date: Tuesday 3rd October Time: 4pm Location: Studio A Lucy Percival will be holding a talk on 'How to Find Your Ideal Role in Film & Navigating the World of Independent Filmmaking & Financing' Lucy has produced award-winning short films through both independent production companies and organisations such as the BFI and NFTS. Her films have been screened at numerous BAFTA qualifying festivals, including Raindance, Bolton International Film Festival and Carmarthen Bay Film Festival. She has now joined Window Zebra Productions as their Senior Creative Producer overlooking and developing the narrative slate. Come and hear her thoughts and suggestions on how you can find your wheelhouse and get started on your creative journey.

Each session will be 90 minutes long In our Mummy Morning it will be very easy going  with an option to take part in gentle core exercises to slowly strengthen our core and pelvic floors which is vital after birth, but not only that, we work on the whole of our bodies.  Our bodies go through so much from carrying our little ones but the process during and after impacts our precious bodies, so we need to look after them.  Mind, body and soul :)
