You should meet the following requirements:
be aged 19+
have access to learners to meet course requirements
have a satisfactory level of Literacy and Numeracy skills
not have a criminal background that prevents you from becoming a teacher
Practical Requirement
At least 100 hours of teaching log is required with eight observations (each of one hour) for the L5 Diploma in Education and Training (RQF).
If you do not have access to learners to meet the practical requirements of the course, you can avail our work-placement service.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence you submit containing five written assignments, teaching observation forms and a teaching log of 100 hours, which demonstrates the achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit. You would attempt most of the tasks through essay style written accounts and reflections of your teaching practices. In addition, some of the tasks would require submitting relevant work such as study resources that you prepared for your learners, lesson plans, scheme of work, ILPs, etc. Lastly, of course, eight of your teaching sessions, an hour-long each, will be observed by your assessor.

The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (L5 DET) is an industry-standard qualification for those teaching in the post-16 sector.
