The Emily Laws School of Acting was established in 1993. We provide classes and private tuition in person and online to students aged 5 to adult. Subjects taught include Acting, Musical Theatre, Singing, Speaking skills, Interview skills, Improvisation and Piano. Emily is a fully qualified teacher and one of the few local drama teachers who hold the LAMDA Teaching diploma with an exemplary record of student's exam results. We also offer the opportunity to perform in 3 productions each year. All staff hold current DBS status and we have full liability insurance.

ACT Drama School attracts students of all ages and walks of life and enables people to realistically achieve their ambition of a career as an actor in the performing arts. Students must be 18+ to apply to the Diploma and 16+ for the Foundation and all other adult courses. There is no upper age limit.   ACT Kids Theatre offers acting classes for children and young people from 6 to 18. We are also the home to our 50 seater Lantern Theatre with it's own Cafe/Bar on 77 St James's Street, Brighton. The ACT team is comprised of highly experienced, passionate and dedicated actors and directors. They bring their own current professional practice into the classroom, relish the opportunity to nurture new talent and are committed to creating a safe, supportive and inspiring creative environment.   ACT tutors are currently working at the National Theatre, the Lyric, the Globe, the RSC and the BBC. Welcome to The Actor's Cafe. We provide expert, concise acting tuition from experienced teachers who are also industry professionals. The courses support students to develop in their ability to create truthful acting performances. As a natural result of exploring the craft of acting - students learn more about themselves through character exploration, and so a natural bi-product of the course is the growth of the students self-development. We also provide students with opportunities to meet with professional creatives, who have been known to collaborate with our students on various acting projects including commercials, film and short films.
