Send it in to be part of our CRITICAL VIEWING SESSION. This is a laid-back, informal session where you can receive feedback on your work from your peers and friends in a friendly, constructive manner.This will be a great opportunity for you to get unofficial feedback on work you have completed both in school and in your personal time, as well as give you the chance to flex your criticism muscles and express how you feel about others' work.Please note, films should not exceed 10 minutes, scripts or script samples should not exceed 10 pages and showreels/performance pieces should not exceed 5 minutes.

Private View - Join Us For Drinks Thursday 14th November, 6pm to 9pm We are thrilled to announce our second exhibition this month, “BECOMING”, a solo show by the talented Nigerian artist Maduka Emmanuel Onyebuchi. “BECOMING” marks Maduka’s debut solo exhibition, showcasing an exclusive collection of brand-new works created specifically for this occasion. Known for his striking hyperrealistic style, Maduka has captivated collectors and visitors alike in both Nigerian and the United States in group exhibitions, including previous shows at our gallery. In this latest body of work, Maduka explores his personal journey, reflecting on the pivotal experiences that have shaped him over time. In each piece, he assigns a crown or halo to his subjects, elevating them as Queens and Kings, symbolizing his belief that everyone possesses an inherent uniqueness and strength. Through these works, he emphasizes that each individual has the power to shape their destiny, confronting life’s challenges and striving relentlessly to carve out their own future.

DATE: Tuesday 11th June TIME: 4pm LOCATION: Studio A Join us for a frank and informative discussion on mental health, how best to maintain and support yourself and others during times of stress and anxiety. Hosted by our very own school counsellor, Alice Coyle, this session will be a great way for you learn new key skills that will develop your own mental health and help you cope with everyday stress, both from personal circumstances and school assessments. DATE: 15th February TIME: 4pm LOCATION: Classroom 2 St John Ambulance have kindly agreed to provide a First Aid Safety Information workshop to any interested Central Film School students. Areas of focus will include how to be safe on a night out, and also how to handle injuries specific to film sets (burns, electrocution, etc.) This is fantastic information to have both for your professional development and personal life. Date: Monday 16th October Time: 4pm Location: Studio A Join us again for CFS Film Club, as this week we visit one of the essential independent films of the last decade, 2016's Best Picture Winner Moonlight. Barry Jenkins' tender masterpiece explores the LGBT identity within wider African-American culture, with stunning imagery, sensational performances and a wondrous score. Follow the story of Chiron, a teenager growing up in the Miami ghetto, dealing with his sexuality and drug-addict mother. Tickets are free to this event, and be sure to join us in The Landor pub afterwards to discuss the film together.

Date: Monday 11th December Time: 4pm Location: Studio A One of the most important British films of all time, Powell & Pressburger's Black Narcissus will be screened in advance of our December Professional Perspectives guest, Craig McCall, who will join us to speak about the career of Jack Cardiff, one of British cinema's most acclaimed cinematographers ever. Set in a mysterious monastery high in the Himalayas, the film focuses on the mental unravelling of a group of nuns trying to establish a school there, whilst erotic paintings on the ancient palace walls taunt their deepest, darkest desires. Come see the film that won Jack Cardiff the Oscar for Best Cinematography, and that lives on today as a prime example of psychological drama.
