I love painting and I passionately believe in the importance of creativity to everyone's happiness. I moved to Cirencester from Bristol in Jan 2020, and I have since then fully succumbed to the magnetic charms of this delightful town. I was lucky to acquire 4 Beeches Workshops in during 2020, where I have since based my own painting practice. For many years I have taught painting skills classes and tutorials to adults in Bristol and London. I founded "Painting Zone Art Workshops" in 2013, with the aim of providing a creative space, an inspiring environment and experienced painting tuition, to support the development of starting or more experienced artists. Painting Zone classes are designed to be fun and fulfilling, with structured learning experiences tailored towards individual artistic learning needs and finished paintings. They can provide an oasis of calm within a busy life. This atmosphere lends itself towards friendship within mutually supportive learning and shared enjoyment. Painting courses are scheduled throughout the year at 4 Beeches Workshops and classes are small and supportive.Free taster classes are offered regularly through each term.

Our school supports students in developing creative confidence and finding courage through a range of icon painting courses and workshops open to students at all levels. Edinburgh School of Icon Painting was founded in September 2013. It is a small school based in the artist hub St. Margaret's House. The school mission is to teach icon painting (writing) to people of all different backgrounds but at the same time maintaining the ethos and essence of it's spirituality. Introducing this unique form of art to students of the school I introduce a way of practising art which is different the other forms of art and it is said to be more then just art. Students learn egg tempera technique which has been used in art for centuries and it is one of the most lasting painting techniques. There are still reasonably well preserved icons from VI Century. Egg tempera involves preparing own paints using egg yolk and dry pigments. Through the whole process of work we try to limit synthetic materials. Using organic materials helps to develop a connection with nature and in consequence with the Divine. Basia Mindewicz - founder and teacher. Born in 1978. Graduated from The Maria Grzegorzewska Academy of Special Education, MA and College of Iconography (Policealne Studium Ikonograficzne) in Bielsk Podlaski in 2008.
