Date: Tuesday 12th December Time: 4pm Location: Studio A Noted documentarian Craig McCall will be joining us to show his documentary CAMERAMAN: The Life & Work of Jack Cardiff and to discuss the career of the legendary cinematographer, whose work includes some of the most acclaimed British films of the time (The Red Shoes, Black Narcissus, A Matter of Life and Death). Craig is a dedicated film historian, and this event is open to anyone interested in cinematography, film history or British cinema. Craig McCall’s documentary CAMERAMAN: The Life & Work of Jack Cardiff premièred at Cannes and subsequently screened at over fifty film festivals and was sold worldwide. As an Executive Producer he has made other film related docs including Me & Me Dad on film director John Boorman which also premièred at Cannes, Natan on the pioneering French filmmaker Bernard Natan, Behind The Sword In The Stone on the making of ‘Excalibur’ and Leslie Howard: The Man Who Gave A Damn. All his films have been made independently outside the broadcast system. 

Date: Thursday 15th June Time: 4pm Location: Studio A - Landor Road Event Details: Tim Haines is a television producer and director, having worked on several highly-respected documentary and drama productions over a storied career. Tim will speak about the following topics as well as others at the event: Approaches to Documentary How a Documentary Gets Made The Purpose of a Documentary Modern Combinations of CGI & Live Action Throughout students will have the chance to ask questions about the topics being discussed, before wrapping up with a wider Q+A session at the end. A multiple Emmy and BAFTA winner, Tim has worked on many well known series, including: - Walking with Dinosaurs - Director & Producer - Primeval - Producer - The Loch - Producer - Surviving Earth (currently in production) - Producer This is a free event that all students are welcome to attend. Be sure to book tickets in advance though so that you don't miss out!

DATE: Friday 2nd February TIME: 4pm (meeting at school reception) BOOKING DEADLINE: Noon on 19th January On Friday 2nd February, we will have a school visit to the British Museum, the first of several extra-curricular trips we are looking to arrange in the coming terms. Whilst some of these trips will have a focus on Film & Television, others will be about other general interests, giving you a chance to get to know London and its rich cultural offerings. This trip to the British Museum will include a tour of various significant relics from across the world and human history, organised and led by Conrad, our Student Services Officer. Ideal for both first-timers and those that have been before and want to learn a bit more. We will meet in the School Reception at 3:50pm that day and then head over together at 4 o'clock. It is direct on the Northern Line and then a short walk to the museum. Once inside you are free to take the tour we have organised or explore on your own should you wish. Once the tour is complete people are welcome to stick around and explore more, have relaxed drinks in a nearby pub or head home, whatever you prefer. ONE TICKET PER PERSON, PLEASE DO NOT BOOK MORE THAN ONCE ONTO THIS EVENT. ONLY BOOK IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON ATTENDING. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAKE IT, PLEASE LET US KNOW. This is a FREE TRIP that you will not need to pay for but must be booked in advance. There is a limit of 15 tickets in total for the tour and it will be first come, first served. Known for his striking hyperrealistic style, Maduka has captivated collectors and visitors alike in both Nigerian and the United States in group exhibitions, including previous shows at our gallery. In this latest body of work, Maduka explores his personal journey, reflecting on the pivotal experiences that have shaped him over time. In each piece, he assigns a crown or halo to his subjects, elevating them as Queens and Kings, symbolizing his belief that everyone possesses an inherent uniqueness and strength. Through these works, he emphasizes that each individual has the power to shape their destiny, confronting life’s challenges and striving relentlessly to carve out their own future.

The importance of wellbeing for yourself and for your team. This programme of training ensures new leaders are professional, knowledgeable and confident in leading teams of people.  The work based projects gives the opportunity to practise new skills and then reflect on that practise with the trainer. The programme is delivered individually for maximum impact either face to face or virtually depending on the location The trainer has 24 years experience of managing teams of people in the early years and can relate to the busy, challenging emotional environments that Early Years Leaders work in.
