What is the AM2 assessment? The AM2 assessment is an industry recognised trade test designed to evidence that candidates have gained all relevant and safety-critical competencies during their training process. It provides a single standard that has been agreed upon by employers within the electrical industry, giving a reliable and trusted guarantee of safe, high-quality skills for the electrotechnical industry. Who is this for? This is aimed at apprentices who are coming to the end of their training for the JIB apprentice training scheme and the Installation of modern apprenticeships. This course is also for experienced electricians, specifically those who are looking at taking the experienced worker route (AM2E.) There are a range of assessments for candidates based on their level: AM2 – This is for candidates undertaking the JIB mature candidate assessments and those following the level three NVQ who isn’t an apprentice. AM2S – This is for electrotechnical apprentices who are training against the apprenticeship standard AM2E – This is for experienced workers who are completing the experienced worker assessment. Please note: this can only be taken once you have gained the experienced worker qualification, proof must be provided before booking the AM2 assessment. What does this assessment consist of? Overall, the AM2 is an in-depth assessment carrying out tasks to show what you have learnt on your training. It is a practical assessment with five sections (six for AM2E and AM2S) and a short online component. Candidates will be expected to install, connect, terminate, inspect, test, commission and diagnose faults, following installation specifications provided and any relevant statutory and non-statutory regulations on: A three-phase distribution board and subcircuit A central heating/sustainable energy system Lighting and power circuits A data cabling system A safety services circuit and device Installation of containment systems (AM2E and AM2S only) Candidates will complete timed tasks in equipped areas that contain typical electrical installation wiring systems – all work must comply with BS7671 Wiring Regulations, industry best practice, and meet the requirements of relevant health and safety legislation. The assessment will be carried out in strict exam conditions across 2.5 days. Do I need an AM2 certificate to work as an electrician? Apprentices must pass their AM2 test in their final year to complete their apprenticeship. Also, if the apprenticeship standard is not being followed, an AM2 certificate and a level three NVQ is required to gain a gold card. If you are already working as an electrician, you will not need an AM2 certificate. If you are training to be an electrician and are registering for your NVQ level three in Electrical Installation or Maintenance, the electrotechnical diploma now includes the AM2. The AM2 certification is an industry recognised and something that many employers will actively seek when hiring new staff. It can also be attractive to potential customers.

It is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all supervisors working on Build UK sites. To help you fulfil your responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare, and the environment. To help you implement new guidance and industry best practice affected by changes. Course Content • Health and safety law and how it will apply to supervisors. • Your supervisory responsibilities in controlling site safety. • Risk assessments and the need for method statements. • Effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings. • Monitoring site activities effectively. • Timely intervention when bad practice is identified. Prerequisites This course is for you if you are considering, or already have, supervisory responsibilities. Assessment At the end of this course, all delegates will have a clear understanding of controlling health and safety on site from a supervisor’s role. Certificate This certification for this course is valid for 5 years and is endorsed by Build UK as a standard training for all supervisors. To remain certified in this area, you will need to take a refresher course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken. This course provides Health and Safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as a standard training for all operatives on site. Aims To give a clear understanding of Regulations & Legislation that applies to construction work and is an ideal refresher for any operative that has previously completed training in Health & Safety. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date or have completed an NVQ2 or higher in your skills set. But what makes your book feel different and fresh? An excellent voice is key, but what else makes your take on these tropes stand out? An example of a phenomenal book that has turned the magical academy trope on its head, with layers of excellent world building, a unique magic system and plot twists galore is The Will of the Many by James Islington. If you have something crafted this beautifully then Hannah wants to see it! Romantasy of varying spice levels, accessible to both romance and fantasy readers, is on Hannah's wishlist. And you can whisk her away with contemporary romance novels, romcoms, sweeping love stories that redefine the genre. Romcoms with great disability rep and LGBTQIA+ stories that focus on the joy of falling in love are high on Hannah's agenda. She particularly loves Emily Henry, Laura Wood and Abby Jiminez. Think more Nicholas Sparks than Sally Rooney, and Bonnie Garmus rather than Gabrielle Zevin. In this space, she is a big fan of Emma Donoghue, Bonnie Garmus and Jojo Moyes. Meet with Hannah to discuss your crime and high-concept thrillers with an unsettling ‘it-could-happen-to-me’ feeling, coupled with a twist that's unseen until its delivery. The book she most wants to find in this space is something like Three Hours by Rosamund Lupton in both its themes (real-world emotional suspense) and its execution. Presentation - Getting ready for the NEW Code of Fundraising Practice This session highlights the main changes in the NEW Code of Fundraising Practice that comes into effect on 1 Nov 2025. It will also give tips about what hospices need to be doing to be compliant. John Brady John is a highly experienced fundraising manager and leader with over 25 years of experience, the last 20 being at the most senior level in the organisation worked in. Working as a Senior Leader, Executive Director or Chief Executive he has a wide range of experience of managing and leading teams, strategic development, financial analysis, fundraising compliance and management of a broad range of fundraising specialisms such as Events, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate, Charity Retail, Individual Giving and Legacies, with specialist experience within Individual Giving. That has included introducing or developing regular giving programmes, managing gaming products such as society weekly lotteries and raffles, developing or creating direct mail programmes and telephone campaigns. John’s first professional fundraising role was as Divisional Manager at the British Lung Foundation (now Asthma and Lung UK) and has worked for a number of other charities including, Alcohol Focus Scotland, Sense Scotland, Erskine, and as Chief Executive of OneKind. John’s last role was at St Andrew’s Hospice where he led income growth in Individual Giving by leading the introduction of an Appeals programme and the tripling of the Lottery to £1.1 million per year. John joined the sector in 1998 following the death of his younger brother at a young age due to stomach cancer. This instilled in John a passionate belief about the difference charities can make to making the world a better place somehow. John champions ethical fundraising and so joined the Chartered Institute of Fundraising becoming chair of the Institute of Fundraising in Scotland and was made a Fellow in 2016. He was a member of several committees and working groups focussing on reviewing and enhancing fundraising regulation and compliance. He has been a Board member of the Hospice Income Generation Network and Enable Scotland and is currently Chair of Enable Trustee Services.

She has well over 15 years experience in the publishing industry, working for major publishers and literary agents too.  For twelve years, Lil was a Senior Commissioning Editor at Working Partners Ltd – the creatives behind massive commercial hits such as Beast Quest, Warriors and the Daisy Meadows series. There she created globally successful concepts for every age group and developed storylines so the books were unputdownable. Lil is also an author in her own right: she has written 6 books under her own name, and ghost written many others under various pseudonyms.  In every age level, Lil would like to see originality - particularly in voice. A strong character with depth, venturing on a quest that's never been undertaken before will get her excited. The 'quest' doesn't have to be epic in scale, it could be as small as petting the next-door neighbour's dog, or getting the good looking new kid to notice you, it just has to be something a reader will want to invest in. She also loves humour and is happy to see anything quirky (perhaps even downright silly!).  For picture books, Lil would like you to submit a covering letter, and 1 complete manuscript, double-spaced, with spreads marked out, in a single word or PDF doc. Our CITB Online - Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Refresher course is designed to give attendees a broad reminder of their responsibilities for health and safety on construction sites. Approved and endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group, the SSSTS refresher course is a must for anyone who occupies a supervisory role on UKCG sites and wants to brush up on their knowledge of their legal responsibilities and the latest construction industry regulations. The SSSTS Refresher course has been created to provide existing supervisors, or those who are just entering into a supervisory role, with in-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures. If a candidate completed a full SSSTS training course up to 5 years ago, they will be required to attend a refresher programme. Prerequisites SSSTS certificates are of course valid for up to 5 years, but due to the ever-changing nature of the industry, it is recommended that staff stay up to date by enrolling on a refresher course long before the qualification expires.
