Wildlings & Wellbeing CIC aims to reduce social isolation and improve mental well-being through nature connection and social engagement, by providing accessible and inclusive outdoor sessions at several locations throughout the Doncaster borough. We encourage Doncaster residents to get outdoors in all weathers and improve physical development whilst learning transferable life skills. We provide after school and extracurricular activities for children and young people and are a registered destination for Children’s University. Our nurture and well-being sessions are for personal and spiritual development. Our team of graduate professionals have backgrounds in child development, teaching, nursing, well-being and holistic therapies and youth work. Working in a natural environment helps to create a holistic approach to learning and development. Attendees will develop their physical, social and emotional needs through a person-centred long-term educational journey, improving confidence and well-being. Wildlings will be working closely with the safer communities teams and family hubs across Doncaster, in addition to other local community organisations and charities. Adult well-being sessions are also available, to meet up, have a chat around the campfire and learn new skills for personal development.

Message to parents More Than Ed continues to operate as normal. We will not be wearing facemasks, or asking your children to do so, as we do not work in confined spaces and all young people at More Than Ed are classed as SEN. However, should you wish us or your child to wear a facemask in the car due to someone in your family being at higher risk of infection, please inform us. All students' temperatures will be taken prior to their journey to school, and any child that appears to have a higher than normal temperature will be asked to remain at home until they have received a negative COVID-19 test result (not a Lateral Flow Test result.) More Than Ed Therapeutic Provision offers a therapeutic education in a nurture-based environment for young people at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream school, or those who have already been excluded. As an Attachment and Trauma Aware Provision, we offer in-house Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy. All our staff will adhere to all Government restrictions when not at work so that your child and family are protected as much as possible. I’m Sarah, founder and teacher at CRAFT. I opened CRAFT in February 2020, it’s been a dream for sometime to have a space to be able to teach a subject I love so much. I started sewing as a young girl, sewing together scraps of fabric from my mums fabric box, altering clothes and creating new ones. I’ve always been something I have always enjoyed. I graduated with a first class honours degree in Education in 2009. After graduating I took up a teaching post in a secondary school, specialising in textiles and food technology. After having my first child in 2012 I decided not to return to the classroom and started a business making and selling children’s wear from home. When my second daughter arrived in 2016 I decided to start teaching again. I taught in the workshop room at the back of Annie’s fabric shop most weekends. Workshops became popular and from that CRAFT was born. I wanted to create a space that could be used to teach sewing workshops but also could work with other creative areas. I hope that when people visit CRAFT they feel relaxed and enjoy spending time in the workshop space. I really love teaching here. I love sharing my knowledge, my top tips and my expertise. My aim is to give my students confidence and to share my love and passion of sewing. I want everyone to leave feeling excited to start their next sewing project .

Freeman College is located in the Sterling Works in the heart of Sheffield. The Sterling Works was previously occupied by CW Fletcher and Sons who manufactured silver cutlery, tableware and trophies. The area surrounding Freeman College has transformed from industrial factories into education and research buildings, including Sheffield Hallam University. Freeman College extends through the city to Butcher Works, which is next door and houses the Academy of Makers and Fusion Café, and High Riggs, biodynamic gardens and woodlands, located in the greenbelt surrounding Sheffield. Curriculum Sheffield has been famous for cutlery manufacturing since the 1800’s and therefore Freeman College has a strong metal curriculum, and the signature craft is silver spoon forging. Using traditional methods, students learn to hand forge spoons, forks and knives using copper at first and once they have developed the skills, they have the opportunity to work with silver. In addition to forging, students can participate in a wide and varied range of other craft activities including; Whittletang, Textiles, Copper Spinning, Pewter work, Jewellery, Iron Age Forge, and Green Woodwork. Connecting to the Land High Riggs is a 9 acre biodynamic market garden where students can grow and harvest healthy vegetables to use in the residential homes, cafes and canteens. In addition, a very successful community veg box scheme is run out of High Riggs, and students help with harvesting and preparing the vegetables and ensuring the boxes are ready for collection by the community. There are also chickens on the site and students help with collecting eggs and feeding and caring for the animals year round. High Riggs provides an opportunity for students to come out of the city centre and work on the land, experiencing the weather and the seasons. Through the seasons and the associated festivals, students develop a sense of rhythm and time and a deeper understanding of the natural world around them.
