NEVER WAS SO MUCH 'STILL' OWED BY SO MANY, TO THE 'FORGOTTEN FEW' OF THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN. On June 4th 1940, following the evacuation of British and Allied forces from the beaches of Dunkirk and the decimation of the British Army, all that stood between German invasion of Britain was a 20 mile stretch of the English Channel and the pilots of the RAF’s Hurricane, Spitfire and bomber squadrons, later to be called ‘The Few’. And so began the Battle of Britain. Among the brave airmen who fought in the skies above Britain during the Battle and after, were a few Polish fighter pilots, volunteers, our first Allies who had been ordered to evacuate across German-occupied Europe to continue the fight for the defence of France and then Britain. Sadly at the end of the war they never formally received the recognition they, we feel deserved, and were not wholly allowed to participate in the VE Day celebrations. We call them ‘The Forgotten Few’ and want to change this to ensure there is a lasting remembrance, unity, legacy and education (RULE) for all generations. You can help us with this by simply sharing this website and telling your friends, family, teachers and frankly, anyone else. We are also developing education packs that we hope to supply to schools wishing to participate, ensuring children can continue to learn about the sacrifice made for their future. You could also help through volunteering, donating, or buying something from our store so we can continue to fund the project.

We are a well-established charitable organisation providing a range of counselling and training services to secure the delivery and development of high quality professional counselling and counselling associated training in Gloucestershire and the surrounding area. GCS first started in 1978 and became registered as a charity in 1984 with the aim to provide high quality, affordable counselling to the communities of Gloucestershire. At this time there was little provision of this nature outside of London, the small group of therapy professionals grew the service and later launched the training of counsellors so as to ensure an ongoing supply of professionally trained counsellors to the county. GCS was founded to provide access to affordable counselling and training for all members of society within the county, regardless of background or circumstances. We recognise that discrimination operates consciously and unconsciously in our society, which means some people have greater access to opportunities than others. Wayward Weaves is a Stroud-based studio offering workshops in Saori, a form of weaving from Japan that encourages improvisation and free expression. Picture In Saori, there are no rules and no mistakes, just pure absorbtion and immersion in the weaving. Through Saori you can explore a wonderful world of colour and texture using just yarns, threads and your imagination. Beginners can learn to weave in an intuitive and relaxed way whilst more practiced weavers can find new inspiration, exploring techniques without a pattern or plan. Saori enables everyone to enjoy the rhythm and creativity of weaving regardless of age, experience, aptitude or disability. The basic skills are fun and easy to learn and most people are able to start creating their own unique textiles within minutes.

We provide children with the tools that will allow them to not only thrive academically and in sport but also socially, developing their life skills such as communication, listening, problem solving, leadership and decision making. Hassle Free – ProStars pride themselves on being hassle free. This means that you will consistently have the same coach throughout the year. This is not only important for child development but they will understand the schools policies, procedures and the day to day running of the school to ensure everything runs smoothly. We’ve never cancelled a session – On the rare occasion your coach is absent we will instantly find a replacement. The replacement coach will be of equal quality, briefed on policies and procedures, class management, how the day is run, know what the children have previously been learning and what they need to learn that lesson. We are local –We are based in The Dean Academy, Lydney and use local coaches that have been developed through our BTEC and HND programme. We are in daily contact with our team of coaches to ensure that all planning and assessments are done to the highest standard. Staff qualifications – Not only do all P.E specialists have a degree or are working towards a degree in sports coaching and development, they also hold at least a level 2 coaching qualification in their chosen sport. Needle-felting is a fascinating experience, watching creations taking a life and form of their own as you work. It is a very intuitive and tactile craft. Tools required are few and the materials relatively inexpensive. The work can be picked up and put down at a moment’s notice, and can be carried out almost anywhere. Michelle started teaching the craft eight years ago, holding regular workshops at venues across the country. She has now taught over 2000 people and her book on Needlefelting was published in January 2024 by Crowood Press. Workshops are held in a very relaxed atmosphere - it’s been said that the laughs are as good as the course!  There are several regular venues all over the country or you can travel to Furzie's Workshop in Somerset or arrange for Furzie to travel to you.
