Heeley Residents Association wanted to see the land used to make Heeley a better place to live. During 1980 the Association developed the idea of a city farm, and gradually won support for it. Work began on site in July 1981 and the Farm was founded. Over the following years Heeley City Farm had to fight one major battle after another for money and security but the enthusiasm of workers and residents won through. The Farm grew organically over the years from it’s early days with a shed and £25 in the bank, and soon became a well-loved part of the Heeley landscape providing beautiful green spaces and education, employment, and training opportunities. Heeley City Farm is now a well established community, not for profit charity and visitor attraction based on a working farm a mile from Sheffield City centre. Staff and volunteers from Heeley City Farm work with young people, adults with learning disabilities and with local communities across Sheffield to promote regeneration, environmental education, energy efficiency and health and well-being. Horticulture trainees, staff and volunteers also manage organic vegetable gardens at Meersbrook Park, Wortley Walled Gardens and Firth Park allotments. The last remaining terraced house on the Farm site on Alexandra Road has been eco –refurbished and now houses Heeley Energy House, formerly South Yorkshire Energy Centre, an interactive visitor and advice centre open to the public on Wednesday - Sunday, 11am - 3pm. Heeley City Farm is open every day of the year except Christmas Day 9am till 5pm

We provide personalised employment support that meets the needs of both the work ready and those with complex barriers preventing them from entering the job market. We offer assistance to employers to help them match the right people to the right jobs and guidance on how to be inclusive employers. Employers and providers are offered opportunities to promote their organisations and the chance to share insights into how they can help. Steering Group and Planning Groups In order to deliver the best service possible One Front Door works with local providers, forming planning groups that help us connect to, and better understand, Bristol’s isolated communities. We also have an experienced steering group, comprised of representatives from different organisations across the city, that offers us guidance on strategy and direction. We are part of Bristol City Council’s Employment, Skills and Learning team.

Covid -19 response Please note that due to COVID-19, our consultants have taken the difficult decision to suspend all face-to-face group and individual activities and services in response to Covid-19. This is to protect the most vulnerable members of the community and safeguard the health and wellbeing of everyone. We are starting face to face sessions in small groups and one to one for the most vulnerable young people. Our team have put in place alternative services where possible, e.g. telephone appointments, zoom sessions in Romanes and English. We are still doing outreach and provide educational activities to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable young people . Situated on the Sheffield / Derbyshire border, Renishaw Park Golf Club is a gem of a course in the magnificent mature parkland around Renishaw Hall. A tale of two 9 holes so to speak, a slightly testing up and down top 9, then an open long back 9.Renishaw Park is well known for the quality of its greens which are fast and true. The course was built in 1911 by Sir George Sitwell and retains many of the original features and specimen trees from its early days. A mixture of interesting Par 3 holes, tight Par 4’s and longer but more forgiving Par 5’s to give any standard of golfer a challenging round. All of this centres around immaculate greens which are widely regarded as being amongst the best in the area. Renishaw has hosted many county and regional competitions and is a regular venue on both the Derbyshire and Yorkshire alliance circuits.

I’m a qualified personal trainer and bikini fitness competitor. I’m passionate about helping women discover and enjoy fitness. There’s nothing that makes me happier than seeing women get fit and strong. Having learnt so much about diet and fitness through my own fitness journey I decided I wanted to help other women too. I love being in the company of women and knew my skills through my formal qualifications and through my own personal experiences would work better with women, so I set up my own studio where I could work exclusively with female clients in a friendly and private space. My mission is to create an inclusive, supportive exercise environment that delivers enjoyable exercise to women to help them feel confident in a gym environment, improve their body confidence, and improve their strength & fitness. I want to create a community of strong fit women that enjoy exercise and reap the benefits physically, mentally and socially.
