Based on the grounds of Pond House in the picturesque Hale Village, Liverpool, we are re-igniting a passion for flowers which has lived at the farm since the 1970s — from the meadow fields to the grand old glass house; surrounded by water, from the coastal lighthouse walk, the River Mersey and the ponds throughout the grounds of Pond House Farm. We are a chapter in a long story of local farmers, and we are raring to write our part of the same. The Lakes&Rivers flower farm name was born from our founder, John Gibbons’ passion for family. His beautiful nieces, Amaya-Lake and Ailidh-River, or as he always refers to them “two little slices of pure joy” gave him the inspiration for the name. The location of the farm on the banks of the River Mersey sealed the deal. As John Gibbons’ mother would say, “water is the source of life.”

L.G.M. Training was formed in 2002 and is a family run business which is run by my self (Liam) and my wife Denise and son Paul. During the last seven years we have trained thousands of individuals in a variety of backgrounds and fields which have included industrial, construction, utilities and civil. We have catered for lots of different industries some of which are Water treatment, electricity suppliers, nuclear fuels, the fire brigade, aerospace, local councils, government contracts as well as small companies and individuals. Delivering courses for other training companies has very often left our hands tied as regards facilities and equipment, training aids and quality guidance booklets. So we decided to set up our own training centre which will allow us to control the whole package and deliver courses to a better standard. This of course will take time to achieve and will not happen over night but hopefully anybody who visits our training centre either for training or just to visit will hopefully see what we are striving for. Who are we? We are Revved Up. We provide paid work experience for young people from L8 and the surrounding areas to prevent them from being involved in serious organised crime. What do we do? Young, disadvantaged people who are at risk are given opportunities to recruit for and co-facilitate youth projects, events and community consultations. During their time with us, young people are given the opportunity to join our list of members, contribute to/learn the operations/ day-to-day running of our community business, they are all also given personal development programmes, 1:1 coaching and mentoring, social prescribing and business start-up advice. We have regular staff trips and excursions to come up with ideas and celebrate recent successes, these are all chosen by the young people. Our community business originates from another organisation called This Is My Story Limited (TIMS). Over 5 years ago TIMS was founded by Phillip Taylor (1957-2021) Adam Taylor, Sophie Middleman, Mike Hobbs and Deborah Fitzsimmons. The purpose of this organisation was to work with disadvantaged young people involved in crime, drug activity, addiction and those who had severe mental health problems. Adam and his family have spent most of their lives in Toxteth L8 Liverpool and it is one of the most disadvantaged areas in the country. The majority of the work that TIMS did was in Toxteth working with young people (all of whom were referred by word of mouth) that needed help in one of these areas. When TIMS was 2 years old, our founder (Adam Taylor) noticed that the young people he was working with through TIMS expressed a desire to follow in his footsteps and decided to try and make that happen, that is when he started Revved Up Limited.
