Course Summary
This NPORS course is designed for delegates with existing MEWP knowledge. It will enable them to understand the role and responsibilities of a MEWP Supervisor.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course delegates should be able to answer and perform the following:
Have a basic understanding of working at height equipment, the dangers of working at height, selection of work equipment, procedures to work safely within the environment
Have a basic understanding of a supervisor’s responsibilities and relevant legislation, policies and procedures including, relevant risk assessments, method statements and traffic management systems
Be able to supervise the work safely and identify various hazards including dangers of working from a height and emergency rescue procedures
Have an underpinning knowledge of the manufacturer’s manual/handbook for the equipment
Be able to check certification for equipment and accessories including PPE
Correctly risk assess the task and implement a safe system of work, prepare a step-by-step method statement including selection of equipment to be used
Allocate team roles and responsibilities through a toolbox talk/safety briefing
Oversee task ensuring the team safely follows the step-by-step system of work
Liaise with management and operators
Deliver a debrief meeting with the team and discuss any lessons learned during specific task

Each learner is required to complete the pre course preparation prior to attending the 2 day classroom train the trainer course. This will all be emailed to you 7 -14 days prior to attending the course. During the classroom attendance you will participate in risk assessing and demonstrating practical activities throughout the course. There will be peer observations for classroom assessments and a 10-minute theory micro-teach and a 10-minute practical micro-teach on Day 2 of the course.

Learning Outcomes:


1) Be able to define the term Manual Handling


2) Understand employers and employees responsibilities, legal obligations under relevant national Health & Safety legislation, the Manual Handling Operations Regulations and local policies and procedures.


3) Identify how to carry out a Risk Assessment and reduce the risk of injury prior to undertaking manual handling tasks


4) Understand the Principles of good back care and the consequences of poor manual handling practice


5) Be aware of the types of equipment, and testing requirements for lifting equipment associated with moving & handling of people safely.


6) Be able to train others in Moving and Handling of People & Objects practical group training session in their healthcare workplace.
7) Presenting Information - 20-minute Theory and Practical Micro-Teach trainer assessment

All our courses are delivered by Trainers that have the required certification, knowledge and experience within a Healthcare Setting.

<p>But putting IoT systems into place can be a complicated proposition, and fraught with hazards. Solutions may involve devices and technologies from many different vendors, requiring a good understanding of software and hardware and strategies to integrate them, as well as the risks associated with security, privacy, and the safety of those whose working and living environments are managed by these systems.</p>
<p>IT professionals often have little or no experience working with embedded systems, sensor networks, actuators, real-time systems, and other components that are common to IoT, so this course provides a foundation for understanding how these components work with other systems that IT professionals typically have more experience working with-such as networks, cloud computing, and applications running on servers, desktop computers, and mobile devices.</p>

Description

The Internet of Things (IoT) promises a wide range of benefits for industry, energy and utility companies, municipalities, healthcare, and consumers. Data can be collected in extraordinary volume and detail regarding almost anything worth measuring, such as public health and safety, the environment, industrial and agricultural production, energy, and utilities. New data analysis tools have been optimized for the massive amounts of data that IoT produces, enabling well-informed decisions to be made quickly.
But putting IoT systems into place can be a complicated proposition, and fraught with hazards. Solutions may involve devices and technologies from many different vendors, requiring a good understanding of software and hardware and strategies to integrate them, as well as the risks associated with security, privacy, and the safety of those whose working and living environments are managed by these systems.
IT professionals often have little or no experience working with embedded systems, sensor networks, actuators, real-time systems, and other components that are common to IoT, so this course provides a foundation for understanding how these components work with other systems that IT professionals typically have more experience working with-such as networks, cloud computing, and applications running on servers, desktop computers, and mobile devices.
In this course, students will learn general strategies for planning, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining an IoT system through various case studies and by assembling and configuring an IoT device to work in a sensor network. Students will create an IoT device based on an ESP8266 microcontroller, implementing various common IoT features, such as analogue and digital sensors, a web-based interface, MQTT messaging, and data encryption.

A&P for collagen induction therapy. Veins, arteries and capillaries (phlebotomy overview). The integumentary system – structure and function. Microneedling – depths and penetration. LOOKING FOR: PICTURE BOOKS, MG, YA, ADULT FICTION

Clare Wallace joined the Darley Anderson Agency in January 2011 and is building both the Darley Anderson Children’s Agency and the Darley Anderson Illustration Agency lists as well as taking on adult fiction for debut authors. 

Clare is particularly looking for funny chapter books for younger readers at the moment, as well as contemporary MG, YA fantasy, romance, and rom coms, especially with underrepresented protagonists. For picture books she has the widest taste, from daft to lyrical, rhyming to prose. 

As well as being busy with the children’s and illustration agencies, Clare is open to debut adult fiction submissions that could be described as book club, rom-com, romance, saga, reading group, fantasy or historical fiction. She often doesn’t know what she’s looking for until she finds it (although she is not the person for steampunk or space opera). 

She represents picture books, middle-grade, teenage and YA and debut adult fiction. Whatever the age range, Clare loves a big hook, a lot of heart, and a standout voice.  She loves to discover memorable new characters, bold and unique voices, strong concepts and gripping storytelling.
