Learning Pool was founded in 2006 to bring online learning into organisations in a collaborative way. Originally focused on sharing online learning content amongst government bodies, we took that concept and built out the offer to enable performance improvement and modernisation. We’ve always had a healthy obsession with delivering value for money which led us to engage strongly in open source projects that deliver real benefit outside of Learning Pool and provide leading-edge innovation at a reasonable price. For example, Learning Locker is the world’s only xAPI compliant, open source Learning Record Store and we’re a founding member of the Adapt open source framework that brought responsive elearning to the whole industry. We’ve come a long way since 2006, but we’re only just getting started. Belfast Tool Library is the first tool lending library in Northern Ireland. Tool Libraries work just like any other library. You become a member and then you can borrow tools. We’re not-for-profit, and are applying to become a charity. The team behind BTL are all volunteers. We’re from lots of different backgrounds, but share the same passion to build community, and to share skills and resources. There’s definitely a few tool geeks among us too - but you would expect that, right? We’re located at the former Belfast Met/Rupert Stanley Building in the old woodwork workshop. After lying empty for some years, the building has been taken over by Vault Artist Studios, and brought back to life. It is off the Newtownards Road and close to the centre of Belfast with parking available. Our goals are simple. We want to: Promote DIY, making and repair skills through the sharing of tools Make Belfast a more sustainable city Create opportunities for learning and development Bring people together, regardless of who they are or where they come from Sounds great, right? We plan to have a community workshop which is open to members, a space for working on your own projects and learning new skills. The workshop will have larger fixed tools and equipment available for members to use. In the future, we hope to run classes in DIY, making, building and safely using tools. Belfast Tool Library received a set up grant from the National Lottery Awards for All scheme, for which we are very grateful. We are also indebted to all our supporters, volunteers and those who donated tools. Our ongoing costs will be met by donations and the support of members. There are many excellent gyms within the world of kickboxing but only one can claim the unique flavour of Belfast's Prokick. The name 'Prokick' was established at the end of 1990 by Billy Murray, Ireland's most successful full-contact kickboxer, promoter and coach. Murray's tale, from bullied school boy to world champion, and now trainer of multiple world champions is so incredible…almost unbelievable! Billy Murray began his Martial Arts training in the mid 1970's and started training fighters at the start of the 1980’s in Tullycarnet Community Centre, at his first Ju-Jitsu club. Murray went on to open his first full-time Gym, Newtownards Martial Arts centre in Pound Street in 1985. He then moved to Switzerland in 1990 to enhance his kickboxing career. On his return, at the end of 1991, the Prokick gym, a fitness, self-defence and fight stable, was set-up in east Belfast. The spit and sawdust centre is now coming up to it’s 30th year, having been officially established in January 1993. Over the course of the last 30 years Prokick has certainly lived up to it’s reputation as being the ‘Home of Champions.’ Our fighters have performed at prestigious venues across the province. They have travelled to Europe, Asia and North America. We pride ourselves on helping the development of our sport and campaigning for global recognition.

Féile an Phobail was established in 1988 as a direct response to the conflict in the north of Ireland. Its purpose was to celebrate the positive side of the community, its creativity, its energy, its passion for the arts, and for sport. It furthermore aimed to provide events and entertainment at a price that the majority of the community could afford. In August 1988 the first Féile opened with a relatively humble parade of floats, bands and GAA clubs walking in their club regalia to an open-air party in Dunville Park. Street parties were organised throughout the West. Door-to-door collections were made to fund day trips to the seaside for pensioners and outings for young people. Soon the street confrontations associated with the week around August 9th were displaced by a positive display of the community and its creativity. The August Féile has proved a resounding success, growing from strength to strength and inspiring other troubled areas to organise similar festivals. Our carnival parade routinely brings thousands of participants for a colourful, musical procession with specially-designed floats representing a chosen theme, dancers and children in costume and face masks. Féile an Phobail has grown from a one-week festival to being the largest community arts festival in Ireland with a year round programme of events.

OUR STORY The Raphael Studios opened in the summer of 2020, with online Yoga classes hosted from our main Studio by teacher, Bridget. Designed to be a welcoming, calm and versatile space the studios are now open and offer a range of holistic activities including yoga, meditation, sound therapy, pottery and psychological therapy. Owner Bridget is a trained Hatha and Yin Yoga instructor and meditation coach. She has experience in tailoring classes to suit individual needs – and offers a range of classes for the individual and group, both on-line and in person. She passionately believes that yoga is for everyone and is equally comfortable designing a class to suit the age and level of fitness. Bridget is also a Psychiatrist, EMDR consultant and training facilitator. Our studios are located on our family farm in Ballinderry Upper, just 20 miles from Belfast. Due to the current global pandemic, we have maintained our online presence - with 50% of our classes currently taking place online. In our space, all are welcome, and we are sure there is a class perfect for you
