It is a myth that we must be flexible to do Yoga. We do not arrive to Yoga with perfect bodies. Through breath and mindful movement we move our bodies and our minds toward wholeness and healing, and we learn to  accept ourselves as we are each day.  WHAT IS VINYASA FLOW YOGA? Vinyasa Flow yoga classes are both a physical challenge and a moving meditation. We start with yogic breathwork (pranayama) and warm up our bodies with gentle movements.  We then move into a more rigorous flow where we connect our breath with our movement through various yoga postures.  Modifications are offered for different abilities and those with conditions and injuries.  We then wind down with relaxing postures and deep rest.  In these classes you can expect to build physical strength, balance and stamina.  You will also develop a mindfulness practice and better body awareness.   This is a strength-based style of yoga so expect to sweat. At the end of class, you will leave feeling challenged and energised, yet also calm and centred.  With regular attendance you can expect to feel stronger and more flexible, to have better balance and to learn mindfulness tools to manage stress.  -- Please note: a reasonable level of fitness is required for these classes. You should be able to walk briskly for a mile and go up and down stairs without difficulty. Flexibility is NOT a requirement, rather it is one of the benefits gained by practicing yoga. 😊 After my first yoga class, I was hooked. I felt so calm. My body felt so open, and so tall. For more than 20 years now I have attended yoga classes for fitness, fun and to find a place of peace and respite. It’s helped me through bouts of back, neck, and wrist pain when I worked in IT. Yoga kept me fit during pregnancy and gives me a calming place to go when I need a break from the constancy of motherhood.

Hitchin,

Back pain is one of the most common conditions that people live with in the UK today. The vast majority of us are likely to be affected by back pain at some point in our lives. For most it will be a short lived experience but for others back pain is ongoing and affects quality of life, making ordinary daily tasks difficult or at worst simply impossible to perform. Chronic back pain can result in depression, low self esteem, unemployment, the breakdown of relationships and more. Here at BackCare we provide information and education to prevent unnecessary back pain from occurring in the first place. However, whilst prevention is better than cure, we also understand that not all back pain is avoidable. A large part of our work at BackCare is to provide practical and emotional support to people living with back pain whether caused through wear and tear, injury, musculoskeletal disorders such as Scoliosis, Spina Bifida, Arthritis and Axial SpA or other serious underlying health conditions like Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, or Cancer, for example. BackCare was the brainchild of businessman and philanthropist, Stanley Grundy who in 1968, set about creating a charity dedicated to those living with back pain, regardless of cause and educating the public in ways of preventing back pain. Today, some 50 years on, we remain resolute in our efforts to significantly reduce the burden of back and neck pain by working together with people and organisations and those affected by such pain and providing information, guidance and advice to all. We are proud to have HRH The Prince of Wales as our Patron.

7AB,

Swimming strengthens your little one's heart and lungs, as well as their arm, leg and neck muscles. All this helps with their coordination and balance. It even aids a healthy appetite and improves their sleeping pattern. Enhance the bond between you Enhance the bond between you Focused time in the water builds the bond between you and your baby, through skin-to-skin and eye contact. Swimming gives you that time to really connect, away from the demands of daily life. Teach them water safety Teach them water safety There's nothing more important than your child's safety. Teaching them vital safety skills from the get-go prevents them from developing a fear of the water later and gives them the knowledge to keep themselves safe, wherever they are. Give them life confidence Give them life confidence When your little one grasps a new skill, this sense of achievement gives them the confidence to try new things. So you'll soon see them flourish in and out of the water. Develop their social skills Develop their social skills The pool is the ideal place for your little one to develop their social interaction as they play with other babies in the class. It's also a brilliant way for you to meet other like-minded parents too! Accelerate their learning ability Accelerate their learning ability All the movements that your little one learns in the water strengthen those brain connections. Research has shown that the time your baby spends swimming can put them months ahead with mathematical reasoning and reading.
