REFERENCE CODE 603/4460/X COURSE LEVEL NVQ Level 2 THIS COURSE IS AVAILABLE IN Course Overview The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Specialist Concrete Occupations (Construction) -Concrete drilling and sawing qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification. This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work in Specialist Concrete Occupations. Not all individuals will carry out exactly the same tasks so there are 3 pathways, these allow achievement in Concrete Drilling, Concrete Sawing and Concrete Drilling & Sawing. You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification. The qualification consists of 4 mandatory units with a total credit value of 20 credits, in addition to these candidates must achieve the required credits from the chosen pathway.

P900 - Maintenance and testing of control measures for domestic hot and cold water systems is there to provide the basis of competence of operatives undertaking the operation and monitoring of domestic hot and cold water systems in buildings. The objective is to enable the candidates to identify the risks posed by legionella bacteria and understand how to manage the risks in domestic water systems, to a standard which minimises the risk of exposure and ill health.

This course is a recognised route into the gas industry without having an NVQ or apprenticeship in plumbing and/or gas. Before you can start your Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) domestic initial assessment you will need to complete the MLP course if you do not hold any current gas qualifications. Those who require a detailed understanding of asbestos surveying principles (e.g. asbestos report writers, architects, building surveyors etc.) Prior Knowledge and Understanding Candidates for this course are expected to be aware of the contents of HSG 264 Asbestos, the survey guide and have a minimum of six months prior experience of assisting on asbestos surveys. In addition, candidates are expected to have had training to cover the core competencies outlined within the foundation material detailed within Table A9.1 of HSG248 Asbestos: The Analysts' Guide (July 2021). This may be achieved by In -house learning or through the P400 foundation module.

The NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Formwork provides a nationally recognised qualification for those working in the construction and the built environment sector in the specialise in handling, erecting, striking, constructing, maintaining and repairing complex and non-complex formwork to demonstrate their competence and become eligible for the Gold CSCS Card.
