With a degree in Graphic Design from the University of La Plata, Argentina, I worked in print production and logo design until I moved to the UK in 1999. I have always had a particular interest in Typography and Calligraphy, and gradually the latter took over. Since 2016, I have focused my career on teaching and producing calligraphy work. I co-founded Love Calligraphy, where I worked until April 2020. I worked with Kirsten Burke on special events through the North West for Jo Malone, Clinique, Molton Brown and La Mer during my time there. Additionally, I have collaborated with Simple Lettering Magazine in two articles about Traditional Copperplate. Now, I work independently from home to better fit my work around my family life. My efforts are entirely behind the CalligrAbility initiative. I am a member of NWCA [http://www.northwestcalligraphers.org.uk/], SSI [https://calligraphyonline.org/], SLLA [http://www.southlondonlettering.co.uk/] and CLAS [http://www.clas.co.uk/]. Since February 2020, I have been collaborating with Joy Daniels [http://joydanielscalligraphy.co.uk/] on the Copperplate Special Interest Group [http://www.clas.co.uk/copperplate-special-interest-group/]. Here at our school we deliver traditional Irish Dance lessons for children in Bolton, aged 2 and above. We aim to promote fun, friendship, fitness and above all, a love of Irish Dancing. Every pupil will be encouraged to develop their dancing to the best of their ability within a challenging yet supportive setting. We believe this balance is a key factor for the motivation of any successful dancer. As a pupil of the Shamrock School of Irish Dance, children will have the opportunity to participate in display performances as well as grade examinations, local and international competitions. All pupils will be directed and trained towards technical excellence and improve their confidence and fitness whilst having fun dancing! Display performances are an excellent opportunity to share our talent within the community whilst developing pupils' teamwork skills. Within the class setting, there will be a focus on flexibility, stamina and technique. Pupils are encouraged to strive for success, both on a personal and competitive level. The Shamrock School of Irish Dance is registered with the organisation - An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha. An Coimisiún is the largest and most recognised Irish Dance Organisation in the world. Hello and Welcome to my site, I’d like to tell you about myself and my history within the Driver Training Industry as I believe this is vital to know when choosing an Instructor. My name is Gary Phillips and I have been an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) since 1991 when I was working with BSM from their Wigan branch, having established myself as their number one Learner Driver Instructor I Quickly progressed to become a Fleet Trainer and Instructor Trainer, my reputation as an effective Instructor Trainer was soon established and I was covering a large area including Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Leeds. In 1998 I won BSM’s National Competition “Instructor of the Year.” Soon afterwards I was “Head Hunted” by another National Instructor Training company to become their National Training Officer for the North of England covering an area between Birmingham and Newcastle where I was in charge of Training the regional Trainers and Quality Control of Instructor Training sessions, I also devised and wrote a new training system which became very successful. Unfortunately this company went into Liquidation and so I decided to use the vast knowledge and experience I had gained to offer my services to Learner Drivers who were serious about wanting to learn to drive to a high standard in a short time by taking an Intensive Course and Trainee Instructors who had the motivation to qualify as an ADI, the ambition to gain a better Grade in their Check Test or advance their career and become an Instructor Trainer. My Reputation as one of the Top Trainer’s in the Industry is well known throughout the North West & beyond. My Mission is to help you achieve your Goal and by using tried and tested Training Techniques along with my own carefully developed Training Methods and individually focused Tuition to suit your personal requirements, I am confident that if you follow my advice you will achieve your Goal as soon as possible.
