The objective of this training course is to provide an understanding of power transformers and electric motors, their materials, components, and how they operate. It will also emphasize the importance of transformer life management, especially for those transformers and electric motors which have been in operation for than 10 years. A background of the methodology used to generate the various safety plans and codes used in the operational safety case will be covered. The course will also review general operational guidelines in the offshore environment to ensure that the operations are completed as designed. This will include offtake operations and maintenance processes for the plant and vessel as well as a session on subsea.
