This course is for 16+ candidates who want to learn how to create, record, edit and arrange music using a range of hardware and software. The course includes setting up and operating of midi sequencing hardware and software, the use of multi-track mixing techniques and sound effects, and using synthesisers, samplers, microphones and mixing desks in music recording and production. Course costs include 6 - 9 hours of live studio time. DAW’s used include Logic Pro X & Ableton Live. Day: Tuesday & Wednesday evenings (one academic year) Times: 6pm - 9pm  Who is this course for?  Those that have completed or are parallel studying the Level 1 in Music Technology or have a wide interest with experience in recording and producing music with good basic skills of Music Technology software and hardware.  What will I learn?  This will include course objectives. •Use Midi sequencing and software •Use Midi & Audio techniques •How to use computerized file location, file saving and backup procedures •Record and mix down a combination of MIDI and AUDIO materials •How to build a portfolio of evidence to show development of your work.

If you love getting hands-on and want to tune into your creative side, come along to this London candle making experience!  During this relaxed and friendly craft class, your friendly teacher will guide you as you learn the art of candle-making using vegan, cruelty-free, locally sourced materials. Set in vibrant Shoreditch, your teacher will take you through the process before letting you put your skills to the test as you create your own 6oz scented soy wax candle. Complete beginner? Don't worry, your teacher will be there to help and support you throughout!  Refreshments and tasty cupcakes will also be provided throughout as you master your new skills and soak up the scent of your candle creation. After pouring your candle, you’ll personalise it with your own custom label and walk away with your newfound knowledge and a sense of zen! At the end of the class, your scented candle will be ready to take home.

During this 3 hour workshop you will be guided through each section using basic hand building and sculpting techniques . During the first 90 minutes you will sculpt and form the face ,with the opportunity to create your own unique character . There will then be a teabreak before you add the foliage to your Greenman Foliage will be provided however if you wish to personalise your plaque using leaves from your own garden please do not hesitate to do so . (Please note leaves are rolled into the clay to leave an imprint then cut out .therefore leaves with veins give best results ) Once finished your clay creation will dry out slowly for 2 weeks before under going its first kiln firing . Once bisque fired it will then be professionally glazed by Lynne and enter the kiln again for its final firing . Your final piece will be ready for collection 4 to 5 weeks later from Ainsdale . Do you dream of starting a career in art, design or media? Are you interested in doing a creative Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree? Are you curious about studying art at University level but need a bit more experience, a confidence boost or want to immerse yourself in a few new creative techniques before you start your degree? Join us on our free two-week Making Change course. This course has been designed to prepare you to start university, alongside building a portfolio and gaining support for your application. You will get an art school experience, and during the course you will get the chance to meet the lecturers for the subjects you are interested in studying. You will learn how to work with different painting and printing techniques, test your skills as a fine artist, and get hands-on with materials, all while building a portfolio. This course has been designed to support you commencing your Undergraduate or Postgraduate studies with Arts University Plymouth in September 2025 or 2026. “Honestly, I can't believe the course was only three weeks long. What are the entry requirements for this course? You don’t need to have a portfolio prepared - you just have to bring your enthusiasm and meet the following criteria: At the start of the course I am between the ages of 18 - 70, I'm eligible to work in the UK (i.e. I have a National Insurance number), I am interested in studying at Arts University Plymouth in September 2025 or 2026. I want to explore higher education opportunities at an undergraduate or postgraduate level, I am eligible for at least two years of student funding or I am looking at self-funding a Higher Education course,* I am able to attend all six sessions (see dates below). *More information on whether you are eligible for financial support can be found at www.gov.uk/student-finance/who-qualifies. If you are unsure if you are eligible, we can discuss this with you once you have applied. When does this course run? If you can't make the event anymore, please be sure to cancel your ticket in advance through Eventbrite to give others a chance to attend. The Knit Club is a workshop by Craft Forward structured like a relaxed and welcoming knitting and crochet group, open to beginners and experienced makers to come together, connect, and assemble our blankets for the “Blankets for London” project. “Blankets for London” is Craft Forward’s seasonal project where we assemble blankets to donate to homeless individuals in London through our partner charities. The Knit Club is open to anyone interested in approaching crafting and textile art for the first time and to any creative who would like an opportunity to make together and connect with other makers. What to bring: all materials are provided! I want to participate in "Blankets for London": our mailbox is now CLOSED for Blankets for London 2023. Thank you so much for having participating! We will start collecting new squares and blankets in 2024. This qualification is aimed at those who are involved in setting out and erecting masonry structures onsite working from drawings and specifications. The structures could be brick and blockwork or local materials. It is not expected that candidates working in this industry all do the same activities, so the qualification is structured to ensure that there is a high degree of flexibility within the units available and will allow employees from companies of all sizes and specialisms equal opportunity to complete. To provide this opportunity in addition to the mandatory units’ candidates will also be able to select optional units recognising specific skills What is required from candidates? Qualifications are now required to indicate the total qualification time (TQT), this is to show the typical time it will take someone to attain the required skills and knowledge to meet the qualification criteria, this qualification has a TQT of 610 hours. Qualifications are also required to indicate the number of hours of teaching someone would normally need to receive in order to achieve the qualification.
