The Level 1 Course is available as a motorbike focused, or alternatively our standard vehicle course. Alternatively, candidates can book an additional day on Motorcycle Detailing as a bolt-on to an automotive Level 1 Course here if they would like to learn both sets of skills. Moving & Handling Refresher training is mandatory for all staff who are physically assisting clients. What will my staff learn on this Course? Moving & Handling Refresher training is for staff who have taken part in a M&H Induction course within the last three years, or, have taken part in a M&H Refresher course within the last year. The Care Certificate Refresher is fully CPD accredited. The Care Certificate Refresher training is a full day, instructor led course in a fully equipped training room. We use a mixture of training methods such as hands on activities, group discussion, games and the use of equipment / technology to cover the different learning styles of the individual. Learners will update their knowledge, skills and understanding around the 15 care standards. The Care Certificate Refresher provides care staff with the fundamental skills to provide a quality, safe and effective service. The Care Certificate Refresher does not cover manual handling of people and objects. This is a stand-alone course, which can be booked separately. Care providers are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and as a result must meet the Health and Social Care Act 2014 (Regulation 18 Staffing). Evidence of training and understanding is provided to support providers in their evidence of compliance. A high-impact programme designed to be fun and to get people fully involved. The first-class, jargon-free content is based on what people need to know in practice, not off-putting legal language. This introductory course covers: Introducing Working Safely: Accidents can happen to anyone. The realities of the human suffering behind the statistics. The importance of personal responsibility. Defining hazard and risk: Focusing on the six broad hazard groups, participants are asked to think about the hazards and risks they come across in their own work. 'Risk assessment' demystified. Identifying common hazards: All the main issues - aggression and violence, asbestos, bullying, chemicals and harmful substances, computer workstations, confined spaces, drugs and alcohol, electricity, fire, getting in and out, height, housekeeping, lighting, manual handling, noise, personal hygiene, plant and machinery, slips and trips, stress, temperature, vehicles and transport, and welfare facilities. Improving safety performance: Bridging the gap between management and workforce, encouraging participants to play their part. Also covered: contract work, inspections, safe systems and permits, protective equipment, signage, emergency procedures, reporting and health checks.

The Moving &Handling Course is a full day course to ensure that care workers are competent and confident to carry out their duties to the standards expected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) when Moving & Handling People. The course is a mixture of theory and practical elements, using various forms of equipment used in the community. Training Aim: To equip learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively move and handle individuals, minimising the risk of injury to both the care giver and the person being moved, whilst promoting dignity and comfort for the individual. Investigating accidents and incidents: Why accidents should be investigated, why things go wrong and how to carry out an investigation when they do. Measuring performance: How checking performance can help to improve health & safety. How to develop basic performance indicators. Auditing and proactive and reactive measuring. Protecting the environment: Introduction to waste and pollution. How organisations and individual managers can get involved in cutting down their environmental impacts.
