Good Growth Hub

good growth hub

London

Our mission is simple: use the very best ideas, people and practices to become a national leader in bringing opportunities for young people. Or, as we like to call it, Good Growth. We celebrate diversity in every sense, from neurodiversity to gender to race and stand to give everyone the tools they need to pursue their passions. Good Growth drives the work we do and is the value we share with all of the businesses we collaborate with. Our vision is to see east London’s young people thrive and businesses grow thanks to the work that we do together.  Situated right in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the space is part of the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC)’s plan to make sure businesses are tapping into local talent. The LLDC teamed up with A New Direction who run the Hub and bring this initiative to life for both young people and employers.  Young people can take advantage of the paid opportunities we publicise, the support we give for freelancers and start-ups, and industry connections we help foster through mentoring and networking, as well as sector specific careers advice and coaching. At the Good Growth Hub, all internship opportunities pay at least the London Living Wage of £11.95 per hour – but we strive for higher.  For businesses, the Good Growth Hub is an excellent resource to establish good working standards and to become more inclusive. Employers are able to both nurture and draw from a talent pipeline that’s eager to show what they can do. We’re always on the lookout for like-minded businesses to partner with us as mentors, speakers and advisors.  So, whether you’re a business, a young person or just someone who shares our passion for Good Growth, we’d love to have you involved.

Angel Of Education

We create innovative web-based applications to help all levels of the education sector, from pupils, teachers and school leaders right through to local authorities and large academy chains. Our tools are used nationwide, as well as internationally. We Believe… Everyone deserves a quality education; Freedom & creativity breed innovation; Excellence should be noticed & rewarded; Life is better with some fun & personality; Greatness comes from always knowing that you can be better; Angel is not its employees, but our beliefs. Those will live forever. The Angel Circus At the beginning of 2012, we converted our offices into a Circus so that our surroundings could reflect the personality and innovation that takes place within the company. Why a circus? Because the circus is a place where talented performers train hard and work to entertain and thrill their audience. In the same way, we want to wow people with our software, customer service and support. We love seeing visitors’ faces when they come to meet Team Angel at our circus. There’s a Big Top and gypsy caravan for creative meetings, a grandstand (complete with ball pool) for presentations, a full-wall blackboard for ideas and inspiration, plus fairground mirrors, a popcorn machine and plenty of other circus curiosities for fun. Most of our staff have even learnt to juggle! And really, it’s our staff who reflect the Angel Solutions DNA more than any props ever could. How We Encourage Creativity… Beyond the circus, creativity and innovation is central to how we work. We give staff plenty of opportunities to promote and showcase their talents, whether work-related or not, and place a high value on ongoing learning. Most importantly, we always strive to celebrate effort and creative thinking in our team, just as much as we celebrate their successes. For example, our staff might… Introduce a new work process to try to save time Trial a new technology inside one of our products Teach a skill or share an idea at a lunchtime smorgasbord session Work with a totally different team on an innovation day Run a staff training session to share their knowledge Do an online course to learn something new No matter how busy we are, it’s important to us to carve out precious time like this. We hold Innovation Days every month and encourage as many people as possible to pause what they’re working on to take part. During that time, teams can mix up and people have an opportunity to work on whatever they want! At the show and tell sessions at the end of these days, presentations are always met with the sound of applause and cheering, whether or not they worked out! Our Performers More than anything else, our company culture is genuinely reflected in the wonderful people who make up our staff team. Lots of our staff have been with us a long time now — some since graduating from university — and their hard work, dedication, expertise and creativity is rewarded. Take a look at our jobs page for more on the benefits we give our team, or see our Flickr photo gallery for a flavour of what it’s like to work at Angel. Want to Visit the Circus? We love it when schools, authorities and other current or potential stakeholders come to visit us here, and are always welcoming to the office groups of students or people from other sectors who want to come and meet our team. Only here at our circus can you get a true feel for who we are and what makes our products and services so special. Simply get in touch if you’d like to pay us a visit. We are hiring! St Michael's Catholic Grammar School

London

Thank you for visiting our website and I hope you find the information you require here, although to get a true impression of the many strengths and outstanding features of St. Michael’s Catholic Grammar School – you will have to visit us at one of our open days! St. Michael’s is a very special place, it is first and foremost a Catholic school; the ethos implanted here by the Sisters of the Poor Child Jesus who founded this school. The trustees, governors and staff remain committed to enabling our students become the person God intended them to be; supporting them to make sense of this complex world and to seek out their unique purpose in life. St Michael’s is a place of spiritual formation – we recognise that Jesus has taught us that we should “love one another as he loved us” – and this gives a focus to the pastoral support we offer our young people. St. Michael’s is also a place of intellectual exploration and achievement. This school is extraordinarily successful – this has been recognised by Ofsted on numerous occasions and every year our students achieve outstanding A Level and GCSE results. Whilst the results are impressive – the true value of these results is what our students are able to do with them. For our students, their A Level grades enable them to open doors to the most prestigious universities and courses. This school exists to enable its young people to move on to the next stage of life’s journey, equipped with the qualifications which will lead them to success, but also the skills and attitudes which will enrich their life and enable them to take up positions of influence in our society – and so change it for the better. If you visit us, the first thing you will notice is the calm atmosphere around the school site and especially in the classrooms. We have very considerate and hardworking students as well as highly capable and caring teachers. In all schools, the success of any child depends upon the partnership between parents, teachers and child – and at St. Michael’s there is not just a partnership – but an active and effective commitment to what is being achieved for our young people.

The Henrietta Barnett School

London

The Henrietta Barnett School (HBS) is a non-denominational grammar school for girls aged 11-18. We became an Academy in April 2012. Founded in 1911 and situated in the peaceful surroundings of the Hampstead Garden Suburb, the school is a charming Lutyens-designed Grade II* Listed Building. HBS is a warm, friendly and vibrant community that prides itself on happy and productive relationships. We are consistently one of the top state schools in the country and have an exemplary local and national reputation for academic excellence. Dame Henrietta Barnett strongly believed in the power of education to shape people’s lives and founded the School to provide educational opportunities of the highest quality for its students. She built the School on the principle that education should be open to girls from different backgrounds to study and learn together and from each other. This principle is alive and well at HBS. We provide a broad education that is ambitious, varied and stimulating. Academic excellence and a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities are offered in an open, caring and supportive environment, enabling each individual to thrive and achieve her potential. We are committed to developing the whole person, encouraging students to explore their interests in a wide variety of ways and promoting curiosity of mind, independence of spirit and a love of learning. In a culture of respect for others but without the need for bells or lists of imposed rules, HBS students are driven by self-motivation, self-discipline and a common purpose, a thirst for learning and a strong sense of pride in belonging to the diverse, inclusive, high-performing, friendly and supportive school community. They leave HBS full of integrity and ambition, ready and equipped to make a positive contribution to society, with the world at their fingertips. This website will enable you to discover more about the School, but none of this replaces an experience of the School itself. Over recent years we have completed ambitious refurbishment and new build projects, including the complete refurbishment of the Queen Mary Science Wing involving the replacement of 6 outdated labs with 8 contemporary ones and the opening of two new state-of-the-art buildings that house a new Music and Drama School and an Art and Design & Technology Centre, with a Mac Suite and Cafe. Our most recent development is the extension and refurbishment of our Library, which is now an inspirational space, fit for purpose and loved by all.
